In their own words

GreenRoad

GreenRoad is a fleet telematics and driver-coaching platform that gives drivers feedback during trips and managers visibility into safety performance. GreenRoad Drive uses voice and visual prompts, tracking risky braking, acceleration, cornering, speeding, and lane handling. It produces driver safety scores and team leaderboards. Managers can view fleets live, review location history, and examine previous trips and incidents. Location-based alerts include configurable speeding warnings and notices for high-risk areas. GreenRoad Central adds AI-powered safety insights, real-time alerts, live tracking, analytics, and pre-built reports through a browser or the Drive app. An open API can combine existing telematics, sensors, and third-party data platforms in one fleet view. Drive runs on Android and iPhone and can operate alongside apps such as Waze. Digital Edge uses smartphones or tablets already in vehicles and is described as requiring no hardware installation or vehicle downtime. GreenRoad lists solutions for passenger transport, oil and gas, mining, utilities, services, food and beverage, construction, and delivery fleets. Pricing is available on request. Support is handled through GreenRoad Central for managers or local managers and champions for drivers.

OpenGTS

OpenGTS is an open-source, web-based system for collecting and storing GPS tracking and telemetry data from remote devices, with vehicle fleets as its focus. Its described uses include taxis, delivery vehicles, equipment, ships, and personal tracking. Fleet operators can view live locations, diagnostics, and sensor data, and use customizable historical, detail, and summary reports. Custom geofences can produce arrival and departure events in reports. Accounts can contain multiple users with separate passwords and controlled access to account sections. Mapping options include OpenLayers/OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, Microsoft Virtual Earth, and Mapstraction. Several tracker protocols and phone-tracking options are included, and custom devices can be added through an example communication server. Each device needs a supported communication server, which may require protocol configuration or implementation. OpenGTS is written in Java, uses an SQL database, and runs its web interface and HTTP device servers in a servlet container such as Apache Tomcat. The project is licensed under Apache License version 2 and provides installation and configuration documentation, a tutorial, JavaDocs, and a FAQ.
