In their own words
Group-Office
Group-Office is open-source groupware and CRM software for collaboration and business tools. Teams can co-edit documents, schedule meetings, and communicate through chat or video conferencing. Its CRM includes shared address books, newsletters, and support tickets submitted by website or email. Project tools cover task and file tracking, time tracking, reporting, and invoicing project work and time.
Document editing and file management integrate with OnlyOffice, Collabora Online, and Office 365. Finance supports online payments such as Mollie and PayPal, plus ZUGFeRD, XRechnung, and UBL e-invoicing formats. Group-Office synchronizes email, contacts, calendars, notes, and tasks with native apps on iOS, macOS, Android, and Windows using IMAP, Microsoft ActiveSync, CalDAV, CardDAV, and WebDAV. Customers can self-host on their own server or use the hosted service, which the company says is hosted in the Netherlands. The hosted Online plan costs €12.00 per month and includes 5 GB storage per user. Group-Office was founded in 2003 and is based in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
Transkribus
Transkribus uses AI to convert handwritten and printed documents into searchable text. Its recognition supports more than 100 languages and historical scripts. Users can select public models for handwriting, print, layout analysis and table recognition, or train their own. The editor supports text and layout changes, version history and real-time collaboration. Layout analysis identifies text regions, baselines, tables and reading order, with exports including PAGE XML, ALTO and searchable PDF. The Developer Platform API returns structured results as JSON, a ZIP archive or PAGE XML; it is in beta and requires Scholar or a higher plan. Results remain available for 24 hours, and submitted JPEG, PNG or TIFF images may be up to 20 MB. Document processing consumes credits: several recognition tasks cost 1 credit per page, while line detection costs 0.25 credits per page. Free includes 50 credits per month; Scholar costs €99 a year. Transkribus says documents are processed and stored on its servers in Austria, and users own and can delete their documents and transcriptions.
