In their own words
HelpHero
HelpHero is a no-code onboarding tool for SaaS product, customer success, and growth teams. It creates multi-step tours that highlight interface elements across pages, with text that can include user properties. Checklists track onboarding tasks, while hotspots show contextual prompts on click or hover. Teams can target tours by language, device, browser, and custom user properties, and create different pathways based on those properties. Analytics track tour interactions and step completion; listed plan features also include drill-down analysis and A/B testing. Installation uses a JavaScript snippet added directly or through Google Tag Manager or WordPress. HelpHero supports Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, and works with HTML-based client-side and server-side apps. It supports web-based mobile and tablet apps, but not native mobile apps. Tours can also be accessed through the HelpHero Messenger app in Intercom Messenger. There is no free plan, and a 14-day trial is listed. The plan for up to 1,000 monthly active users costs $55 a month; higher listed tiers extend to 20,000 users for $299 a month.
Wakeline
Wakeline lets teams create product tours, checklists, tooltips, banners, and surveys on a live app without coding, then measure activation. Its point-and-click builder places guide steps on real pages, including signed-in pages through a browser extension. The feature list includes 45+ templates and AI drafting that turns an onboarding goal into draft steps. Guides can be targeted by visitor status, user traits, saved segments, page or event triggers, and frequency caps. Per-step translations support automatic language detection and fallback.
Analytics include guide starts, completions, drop-offs, clicks, survey responses, and trends; session replay and A/B testing are also listed. Wakeline says its browser-based approach works with React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, Rails, Django, WordPress, and plain HTML. Its SDK is described as about 24 KB, asynchronous, and installable with one script. Sensitive inputs including passwords, emails, and phone numbers are masked by default before replay data leaves the browser. The free plan provides 3 flows, 1,000 monthly active users, and 1 teammate. Pro is $41 a month, billed annually.
