OpenVolMgr
OpenVolMgr is an open-source resource management platform for nonprofits, shelters, and community-led organizations. It organizes specialized teams such as drivers or supervisors and supports secure whitelisted mailing. Dynamic task assignment and automated time tracking record volunteer contributions, while granular permissions and live analytics provide administrative oversight. Staff and volunteers can communicate through direct, secure messaging. Documentation covers recurring shifts, overlapping tasks, verification logic, volunteer groups, and group supervisors. Users can export shift histories as CSV and generate contribution letters. Security guidance includes multi-factor authentication and approved-domain whitelisting. Organizations may self-host on their own infrastructure or request managed deployment with hosting and setup. The managed offer includes priority support and maintenance, while the knowledge base specifies ticketing only for Standard and Enterprise. The project began in a local homeless shelter and was iterated with staff feedback. Self-hosted use is free, with Android, web, and self-hosted platforms.
