In their own words
Hive
Hive brings projects, tasks, approvals, billing, and related team work into one platform. Teams can plan with project views, dashboards, goals, live reporting, templates, custom fields, and portfolios, then collaborate through Notes, action cards with comments and attachments, and forms for internal or external teammates. Its listed AI tools draft email replies, convert meeting transcripts into action items, build projects, proof content, and create dashboard widgets. Hive lists more than 1,000 integrations, including Google Drive, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Jira, Slack, and QuickBooks. The Free plan is described for light project management and includes unlimited tasks and collaborative Notes, 200MB of storage, and up to 10 workspace members. Starter is an entry-level plan with up to 10 members and 10 projects. Free is free forever; Starter costs $5.00 per user per month and Teams costs $12.00 per user per month. Hive says workspace content stays private to the organization and describes network security controls and hourly backups. It requires an internet connection, so offline access is unavailable.
imgproxy
imgproxy is a self-hosted HTTP server that transforms images on demand using a source URL and processing options. It can resize, crop, trim, rotate, pad, watermark, apply filters and color adjustments, and chain processing steps. Sources include HTTP(S), local files, Amazon S3-compatible storage, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, and OpenStack Swift. Supported formats include JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL, GIF, SVG, ICO, HEIC, BMP, TIFF, and animated GIF and WebP. Optimization can remove metadata and ICC profiles, quantize PNGs, and serve WebP, AVIF, or JPEG XL when a browser supports the format. imgproxy can run in Docker, Kubernetes with Helm, cloud environments, or on a local machine. Security options include signed URLs, authorization headers, source and file-size limits, dimension checks, URL expiration, and SVG sanitization. Pro adds video, PDF, and Photoshop previews, advanced compression and watermarking, object detection and cropping, automatic format selection, and priority support. The open-source version uses the MIT license. A free plan and 14-day trial are listed; Pro starts at $49 a month.
