Overview

Campaign creation combines a drag-and-drop editor, templates, and AI-assisted content creation. Lists, custom contact fields, and segments built from multiple conditions help teams target messages more precisely than a single undivided mailing list. Automated workflows can react to recipient behavior, and teams can edit active workflows without interrupting journeys already in progress.

For ecommerce, supported uses include promotions, purchase follow-ups, feedback requests, and abandoned-cart triggers. That gives small online sellers practical campaign options beyond newsletters. Zoho also says it does not serve ads in its products, including free editions, or sell user information to third parties.

Key features

Campaigns and measurement

Email, SMS, and WhatsApp support makes Campaigns a fit for teams seeking several messaging channels in one platform. A/B testing compares email variants, while reporting tracks opens, clicks, unsubscribes, bounces, and delivery statistics. The combination supports both campaign refinement and delivery monitoring, although the stated testing capability is specific to email.

Targeting, automation, and integrations

Behavior-triggered workflows and multi-condition segments suit marketers who need campaigns to respond to audience activity. The ability to edit live workflows is especially useful when a journey needs adjustment without stopping it. The pricing page lists integrations including Zoho CRM, Salesforce, Shopify, SurveyMonkey, HubSpot, and Zapier; the product has 40 native integrations overall.

Pricing

Campaigns uses a freemium model and offers a 14-day trial. The Forever Free plan is free and includes up to 2,000 contacts, 6,000 emails per month, five users, basic reporting, and 35 app integrations. It is a workable starting point for a small team, but monthly email volume—not just audience size—can become the constraint for frequent campaigns.

Standard has custom pricing, starts at 500 contacts, allows unlimited emails and up to 100,000 contacts, and includes 10 users. Professional also has custom pricing, starts at 500 contacts, and raises the ceiling to 500,000 contacts with unlimited emails and 20 or more users. These paid plans remove the free plan’s send cap and offer more room for teams and lists; the available plan details do not establish which additional features distinguish them. The pricing page lists email, telephone, and in-product chat support, with priority support for Standard and Professional.

Platforms

Zoho Campaigns runs on web, Android, and iOS, and provides an API. That covers browser-based campaign work, mobile access, and API connectivity.

Who it's for

Small businesses that want to coordinate multiple channels, segment contacts, and automate behavior-based outreach should find a strong match. Ecommerce teams can use the purchase and abandoned-cart triggers, while growing organizations can move to paid contact limits and unlimited email volume. It is less compelling for a team that needs predictable paid-plan costs before choosing a service.

Pros and cons

Multiple channels in one platform: Email, SMS, and WhatsApp support gives small teams a shared place to plan outreach.
Useful targeting and automation: Multi-condition segments, behavioral workflows, and edits to live journeys support more tailored campaigns.
Free plan has meaningful capacity: Five users and up to 2,000 contacts suit a small operation, though 6,000 monthly emails may limit frequent sends.
Paid plans scale sends and audiences: Standard and Professional include unlimited emails, with ceilings of 100,000 and 500,000 contacts respectively; their custom pricing makes budget comparison harder.
Email-focused testing: A/B testing and detailed campaign metrics help evaluate email performance, but the stated testing feature does not cover the other channels.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, see AI Email Marketing Software and Email Marketing Software. Consider AWeber for a free plan capped at 500 subscribers and 3,000 monthly emails. GetResponse offers a Starter plan at 1915.58 USD per month, billed monthly and paid annually, with unlimited monthly email sends and one custom automation workflow. Mailchimp is another free option, with 250 contacts, 500 emails per month, and one seat on its Free plan. ActiveCampaign is a paid alternative with a free trial and an annually billed Starter plan. SendPulse offers a free tier with 500 subscribers and 15,000 monthly emails. Brevo Conversations has a free plan for one user. Klaviyo offers a free plan for up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends monthly. MailerLite has a free plan with 250 subscribers and 2,500 monthly emails.

Verdict

Choose Zoho Campaigns if a small business needs channel variety, audience segmentation, and behavioral automation in one service, with a free plan that accommodates up to 2,000 contacts. Look elsewhere if a firm paid-plan budget is essential before committing, or if the free monthly email allowance is too low for your campaign cadence.
