Jubler
Jubler is a free, open-source desktop editor for creating, revising and converting text-based subtitles. It runs on Linux, macOS and Windows and handles more than 20 subtitle formats, including SRT, ASS/SSA, WebVTT, TTML, ITT, DFXP and YouTube subtitles. Users can shift timing, convert frame rates, split or join entries and files, check spelling, and search and replace with regular expressions. A timeline with draggable subtitle blocks supports two-point synchronization. With VLC, Jubler can preview video and frames, show audio waveforms and let users edit subtitles during playback. Quality tools include configurable validation rules and TED guidelines checks. Translation mode supports Azure Translator, and command-line tools are available for batch work and automation. Downloads include builds for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, Windows, Linux x86_64 and arm64, as well as a generic Java version. VLC is required for video preview and audio waveforms; ASpell is suggested for spell checking. Jubler is licensed under AGPL-3.0.
