Overview

Pool Service Software (PSS) is a field-service platform for pool businesses that want service visits, jobs, chemistry records, and billing connected. It suits operators managing recurring routes alongside quoted or multi-day work. Its breadth is compelling, but property-based pricing and payment fees deserve close attention as a business grows.

Key features

Routes and jobs

PSS can optimize routes and estimate work hours, mileage, gas costs, and dosage costs by stop and day. Those estimates make it more useful for planning operating costs than a route calendar alone. Teams can track quotes and approvals, place jobs between route stops, and manage work spanning one or several days. Photos and videos attached to job invoices can document completed work for customers.

Chemistry and equipment

At service stops, PSS records water readings and dosages and calculates LSI, with an option to account for borates. LaMotte SpinTouch and ColorQ 2x meters can transmit readings over Bluetooth for automatic LSI calculation, a practical advantage for businesses already using those meters. Orenda Technologies is also integrated, and submitting Orenda advice tickets through PSS is included in every subscription. Equipment records keep pool-related information alongside service activity.

Billing and integrations

Billing covers web invoices, online payments, client AutoPay, automatic monthly invoices, per-visit invoices, and bulk invoice actions. QuickBooks Online can supply client records, and PSS invoices can be linked to QBO invoices so payments may be received in either system. Stripe transaction fees are 2.9% plus 30 cents of the invoice amount paid, so online payment convenience comes with a per-transaction cost to account for.

Pricing

PSS has a free plan and paid plans billed by property. The pricing ranges assume one property per client; a property means any body of water being tracked. That distinction matters for clients with multiple pools, since the bill follows bodies of water rather than simply client count.

Free Plan: 0.00 USD per free, up to 10 properties, with all features included. It is a useful way for a very small operation to use the full feature set, but the cap limits its usefulness as the route book expands.
Wave Maker: 0.95 USD per month, billed per property per month, for 101+ properties, with all features included. This property-based rate is the stated large-account option.
Dive In: 49.99 USD per month, billed per month, for 11 to 50 properties, with all features included. It is the entry paid tier, but operators must account for additional properties when considering the pricing basis.
Ripple Effect: 99.00 USD per month, billed per month, for 51 to 100 properties, with all features included. It extends the same feature set to a larger operation.

All plans include the listed features, so the lower tiers give up capacity rather than functionality. There are no contracts or commitments, cancellation is available anytime, and annual plans receive a 15% discount. For payment-heavy businesses, Stripe fees should be considered separately from subscription cost.

Platforms

PSS runs on the web and supports Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. Technician mobile access makes it a fit for teams working at pools rather than solely from an office.

Who it's for

PSS is strongest for pool-service operators coordinating recurring stops, chemistry work, quoted jobs, and invoices in one workflow. Its route cost estimates and meter integrations are particularly relevant to businesses that need to plan service costs or already use compatible LaMotte devices. A business with more than 10 properties can use the paid tiers without losing features, while a smaller operator can start free. It is less appealing to a business seeking flat per-user pricing or one that wants to avoid transaction charges for online payments.

Pros and cons

Pros: Route estimates include time, mileage, gas, and dosage costs, giving operators more planning context than stop order alone.
Pros: Chemistry records, automatic LSI calculations, and supported Bluetooth meter readings keep service data close to the route workflow.
Pros: All features are included across plans, and the free tier allows up to 10 properties.
Cons: Pricing is tied to bodies of water tracked, so clients with multiple pools can affect the property count.
Cons: Stripe charges 2.9% plus 30 cents of the invoice amount paid, an added cost for businesses collecting online payments.

Alternatives

Verdict

Choose PSS if your pool business needs route planning, chemistry tracking, job coordination, and billing together, especially if route-cost estimates or LaMotte meter support matter. Look elsewhere if property-based charges or Stripe transaction fees outweigh the value of an all-in-one workflow.
