In their own words
LotThread
LotThread connects material, production batch, finished-lot, and shipment records so food and beverage producers can trace products and prepare recall information. Teams can follow a supplier lot forward to customers or trace a finished lot backward to its materials and suppliers. Production tracking records formulas, consumed materials, operators, time, and yield; inventory tracking covers quantities, expiry, warehouse locations, and hold or release status. The product supports mock recalls and exports trace records for review. Records can be entered through mobile scanning, scanner guns, manual entry, bulk imports, or connected apps. LotThread is designed for growing producers who need connected production records without a heavyweight ERP, and can sit alongside QuickBooks and Shopify. The free Starter plan covers one facility and three users. Growth costs $59/month and adds unlimited users, lot-level inventory, mock recalls, label printing, supplier COA status, and API and integration keys. Production costs $199/month and adds multiple facilities and lines, quality holds, recall case workflows, compliance exports, and priority onboarding. LotThread says it is a record-keeping tool and does not itself make customers compliant with laws or standards such as FSMA 204 or HACCP.
TraceSense
TraceSense provides recipe weighing and electronic batch records for manufacturers that need ingredient lot traceability. Its records connect ingredient lots, weigh-ups, and sign-offs, with forward and backward tracing to follow lots through production. Users can set weighing tolerances, and the batch control module stops operators from proceeding when a weight falls outside them. Process checks can verify barcodes or QR codes, capture photos and documents, and require pass/fail results and actions. The modular system also covers production, quality, maintenance, stock, training, compliance, and dispatch. Listed ERP integrations include Sage, Microsoft Navision, and SAP; supported data flows include orders, stock, work orders, and process confirmations. TraceSense describes timestamped records, audit trails, and recall tools for businesses working toward BRC, SALSA, ISO, and customer audits. The cloud-based software can run alongside an existing ERP rather than replacing a full finance ERP. Its Terminal app runs on iPhones and iPads, and process checks can also use Android devices. Pricing is on request.
