Overview

Prebuilt layouts and more than 500 customizable templates give personal sites and small businesses a starting point without coding. Custom domains, contact forms, blogging, and SEO controls cover common site needs, while responsive editing lets users work on web, Android, or iOS. Website.com says a complete site can be built from a phone, a useful distinction for owners who need mobile editing rather than a desktop-only workflow.

Hosting comes with free and premium plans. Yearly premium plans include a year of domain registration for selected extensions, and paid plans include SSL. The service also advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee on service fees, subject to its terms.

Key features

Store and booking capacity

Store and scheduling tools let a business combine products and appointments with its website. Limits matter: the free trial allows three products, up to five booking services, and five bookings per month. Business Advanced is the tier with unlimited bookings and discount codes; Business Standard adds abandoned cart recovery. A small operation can start with less, but a busy booking business should compare these ceilings before committing.

Design, integrations, and discovery

Integrations and embeds include Google Analytics, social links, Facebook Messenger chat, YouTube, Vimeo, and SoundCloud. Smart SEO tools and Google PageSpeed optimization are also among the features. These help cover measurement, media, and site discovery without coding, though the plan details do not establish how much control each tool provides.

Pricing

The free option is a 30-day trial, not an ongoing free tier: it is free, requires no credit card, and ends automatically if the user does not upgrade. It is capped at five pages, 500 MB of storage, three store products, and five bookings per month across up to five services. That is enough to explore the builder or try a small site, but not a durable free home for a larger catalogue or regular bookings.

Personal: 4.00 USD per month, billed at 67% off the regular $12. It includes 2 GB storage, unlimited pages, an online store, SSL, and a free domain for one year. This is the lowest-cost paid route for a simple site that also needs a store.
Elite: 7.00 USD per month, billed at 59% off the regular $17. It includes 10 GB storage, three domain email accounts, unlimited pages, multilingual support, and SSL. It suits a content-focused site needing email and multiple languages, but the stated inclusions do not include an online store.
Business Basic: 15.00 USD per month, billed at 32% off the regular $22. It includes 15 GB storage, five domain email accounts, unlimited pages, an online store, a coupon system, and SSL. It is a more business-oriented store option than Personal, with added email and coupons.
Business Standard: 20.00 USD per month, billed at 33% off the regular $30. It includes 25 GB storage, ten domain email accounts, abandoned cart recovery, multilingual support, and SSL. It is the clearer fit for stores that need cart recovery and more storage; the stated inclusions do not mention unlimited bookings.
Business Advanced: 25.00 USD per month, billed at 40% off the regular $42. It includes 50 GB storage, 20 domain email accounts, unlimited bookings, unlimited discount codes, abandoned cart recovery, and SSL. The higher tier makes sense when booking volume or discount use would exceed lower-tier limits.

Premium plans include support, with live help by telephone, chat, or tickets. Compare the storage and business limits against likely needs rather than choosing on the discounted monthly figure alone.

Platforms

Website.com supports web, Android, and iOS. Combined with the responsive editor, that makes it a plausible option for owners who need to update pages on a phone as well as publish from a computer.

Who it's for

Website.com is best suited to individuals and small businesses that want templates, hosting, and basic site functions in one builder, especially if they need a small store or appointment scheduling. It is less compelling for a business that needs a no-cost site beyond the trial, substantial storage on the entry paid tier, or booking capacity beyond lower-plan limits.

Pros and cons

Pros: More than 500 customizable templates and prebuilt layouts give non-coders many starting points; phone editing extends site maintenance beyond a desktop; hosting, SSL on paid plans, and store and booking tools bring core business functions together.
Cons: The free plan expires after 30 days and has tight page, storage, product, and booking caps; Personal includes only 2 GB of storage; unlimited bookings and discount codes require Business Advanced.

Alternatives

For a wider set of general options, compare Website builders. Businesses with a specific clinical focus can also browse Medical Website Builders or Dental Website Builders; for other small-business-focused choices, see Small Business Website Builders.

Choose FrontDesk instead if you need a web-based booking page with staff calling minutes and texts on its free plan, rather than a general-purpose site builder. Webbin may suit a catalogue site that needs a published website and team member on its free plan. For a medical website with AI generation, consider Plot, whose Starter plan is 19.99 USD per month and includes one published site. Fabricate is an alternative for building web apps, with a free tier that includes 60 credits per month and one app online at a time. Latrexa is a web-based option with a free plan for one doctor. For a restaurant-oriented website builder, see Fabricate. Grigora may be worth comparing for a blog-focused site with team and newsletter capacity. Practice Front is another option for practices seeking patient prospect management and channels.

Verdict

Choose Website.com if you want a template-led hosted site with phone editing and built-in store or booking tools, and its storage and business limits match your plans. Look elsewhere if you need an ongoing free tier or expect booking and commerce needs to outgrow the lower plans.
