In their own words

ManageEngine OpManager

ManageEngine OpManager monitors and manages network infrastructure from a self-hosted unified console. It tracks device and server metrics including CPU, memory, disk use, latency, packet loss, and response time. For traffic and bandwidth analysis, it supports NetFlow, sFlow, J-Flow, and IPFIX. Severity-based alerts and automated troubleshooting through scripts or workflow actions address faults. The product page says OpManager supports more than 11,000 device types from over 450 vendors. Integrations include ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, OpenAI, Jira, Grafana, Slack, ServiceDesk Plus, webhooks, and REST APIs. It can use a locally deployed Ollama runtime for on-premises AI processing without data leaving the network. Access controls include custom roles, password policies, Active Directory, SAML, and two-factor authentication; listed security measures include SSL encryption and file integrity monitoring. The perpetual Free Edition monitors three devices. A 30-day full-featured trial has no device cap. Standard starts at $95 a year for 10 devices, Professional at $145 a year for 10 devices, and Enterprise at $4,595 a year for 250 devices.

WhatsUp Gold

WhatsUp Gold monitors IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, covering networks, systems, traffic, applications, wireless networks, virtual machines, physical servers, cloud resources, storage and SSL certificates. Layer 2/3 discovery creates interactive topology maps of device relationships, dependencies and status. The software can run scripts and policies to address common issues, including restarting services and running SSH commands. Integrations include ServiceNow, OpsGenie, Microsoft Teams, Flowmon, AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor; a REST API supports integrations and automation. It monitors Microsoft Hyper-V and connects with VMware vCenter or ESXi for host, VM, datastore and network metrics. Deployment can be on-premises or in the cloud, with distributed pollers for larger environments. Server software requires Windows Server 2019, 2022 or 2025. The Free Edition costs nothing for 10 devices. Business costs $1,229 a year for 50 devices; a 30-day trial is listed. Licensing and technical maximums can require additional licenses, and a single server can poll up to 100,000 metrics with additional scalability pollers.
