Overview

Mixmax brings outreach and sales follow-up workflows into Gmail and Outlook. It is best suited to revenue teams that need sequences, meeting scheduling, and CRM activity connected in one workflow. Its value depends on using a supported inbox and choosing a plan whose recipient limits match your volume.

Key features

Sequences can combine follow-up emails, tasks, and scheduled calls, with merge-variable personalization and CSV uploads. That makes Mixmax a fit for coordinated, repeatable outreach rather than occasional one-off email tracking. Multichannel outreach and reply detection help teams manage the broader follow-up process, but sending may be limited to 1,000 emails per user per day to avoid Google or Microsoft rate limits.

Real-time open and click tracking, plus desktop notifications, gives sellers engagement signals; unlimited tracking starts with paid plans. Scheduling links let recipients choose a time and add the meeting to both calendars. Automatic sync sends emails, meetings, and sequence activity to Salesforce or HubSpot. Rules can create Salesforce tasks after opens or add recipients to sequences when deal stages change, linking outreach to CRM workflows.

Mixmax offers more than 40 native integrations, and all integrations are included on every plan. It states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified, HIPAA compliant, GDPR and CPRA compliant, and audited by Google. Data is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher. Support includes a Help Center, support messenger, email support, and the Maxine AI assistant in the web app, available 24/7.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 20 tracked emails per month and up to 50 sequence recipients per month. It is a useful starting point for low-volume outreach, but the tracking quota and small recipient allowance make it a poor fit for a busy sales workflow.

Inbox Copilot costs 29.00 USD per month billed annually, or $34/mo monthly. It raises tracking to unlimited but allows up to 100 sequence recipients per month, so it suits users prioritizing inbox tracking over larger campaigns. Engagement Copilot costs 49.00 USD per month billed annually, or $65/mo monthly, with unlimited tracking and up to 1,500 sequence recipients per month. That is the more practical step up for recurring outreach at moderate volume.

Mixmax Suite costs 89.00 USD per month billed annually, or $105/mo monthly. It includes unlimited tracking, up to 1,500 sequence recipients per month, and 200 post-meeting summaries per month; choose it when those summaries justify the premium over Engagement Copilot. Meeting Copilot has custom pricing and is included in Suite; it allows up to 100 sequence recipients and 200 post-meeting summaries per month. Mixmax for Teams also has custom pricing, with unlimited sequences and up to 3,000 sequence recipients per month, making it the option for teams that need more capacity than the standard plans. A 14-day trial is available.

Platforms

Mixmax runs as a Chrome extension for Gmail, an Outlook add-in, and a web dashboard for sequences, reports, and workspace settings. It supports Gmail and Outlook only: Apple Mail, Yahoo, and other providers are not supported, and Gmail extension users need Google Chrome. Confirm that fit before choosing it, especially if your team standardizes on another mail provider.

Who it's for

Mixmax is a strong fit for sales and revenue teams that work in Gmail or Outlook and want outreach, scheduling, tracking, and CRM updates tied together. Its integrations and Salesforce or HubSpot sync support connected team workflows. Solo or low-volume users may get by on Free, while teams sending to larger recipient pools should compare the monthly caps and custom-priced Teams option against their needs.

Pros and cons

Pros: Sequences combine email follow-ups, tasks, and calls, reducing the need to coordinate those steps separately.
Pros: Automatic Salesforce or HubSpot activity sync and rule-based actions connect engagement to CRM work.
Pros: More than 40 native integrations are included on every plan, including Free.
Cons: The product excludes Apple Mail, Yahoo, and other providers, and the Gmail extension requires Chrome.
Cons: Free tracking stops at 20 emails per month, while sequence recipient caps remain on paid individual plans.
Cons: A possible 1,000-email daily sending limit can constrain high-volume outreach regardless of the sequence plan.

Alternatives

Yesware is worth considering for a lighter starting point: its free plan includes basic open and attachment tracking, 10 campaign recipients per month, and Meeting Scheduler. Growbots may suit teams that want prospect database access alongside sequences; its free tier has 20 email accounts, 3 sequences, and up to 20 emails per inbox per day, with partial access to a 180M+ prospects database.

Outplay offers a free tier for one user with two mailboxes and 2,000 active prospects per month, which may suit a small team prioritizing prospect capacity. Regie.ai has a free pool of 250 one-time, non-expiring credits per person shared by up to 10 people, for research, enrichment, drafting, and agents.

Snov.io has a trial with 50 credits, 100 recipients, and one email warm-up slot. Woodpecker is another option to compare for email outreach. Mystrika and Warmbly are also alternatives to consider.

Verdict

Choose Mixmax if your team uses Gmail or Outlook and wants sequences, meeting scheduling, engagement signals, and CRM activity in a connected workflow. Its main advantage is that breadth of coordination; its main reasons to look elsewhere are incompatible email providers, the daily sending ceiling, and sequence caps that can make higher-volume use costly or require custom pricing.
