In their own words

mHelpDesk

mHelpDesk is field service management software that automates customer contact, scheduling, communication, and billing. Its workflow covers jobs from lead and estimate through job management, invoicing, and customer payment. The calendar lets teams view jobs, schedule staff, assign work, create events, and color-code staff and teams. Customers can choose a service, preferred staff member, and available appointment time through online booking that can be added to a business website. The software supports recurring jobs, invoicing and payments, and a customer portal. It connects with either QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online, with only one version selectable at a time. Past QuickBooks estimates and invoices are not imported; the maker says the product integrates with QuickBooks rather than replacing it. Listed payment processor options are Square, Stripe, Authorize.Net, and PayPal. Access is available on Android, iOS, macOS, and the web. Plans are Pro at $169 a month for 3 users, Growth at $249 a month for 8 users, and Success at $374 a month for 10 users.

OpenFieldPro

OpenFieldPro is free, open-source field-service management software that can be self-hosted for lead-to-payment operations. Its workflows cover CRM, customer and property records, equipment history, scheduling, dispatch, work orders, estimates, invoicing, payments, documents, service plans, reviews and reporting. Technician mobile workflows have offline foundations. Payment tools include line-item estimates and invoices, offline payments, optional Stripe checkout and Stripe webhook processing. Integrations can use a plugin registry, scoped API tokens and outbound events. The project includes helpers for installation, updates, backups and restores. Its listed components are a Next.js web frontend, Fastify API, React Native Expo mobile app and PostgreSQL database. The README describes production checks for JWT secrets and CORS configuration, along with bounded rate limits on selected routes. It says the project has no telemetry or phone-home licensing, with optional entitlements verified locally. The core is licensed under GNU Affero General Public License version 3 and costs nothing, with no listed limits on users, technicians, customers, jobs, invoices, locations or core operational features. The project is undergoing release-candidate hardening; production release still requires its release checklist gates.
