In their own words

MISP

MISP is an open source platform for collecting, storing, distributing, and sharing cybersecurity indicators and threat information for incident and malware analysis. It is designed for incident analysts, security and ICT professionals, and malware reversers. Analysts can correlate information using fuzzy hashes and CIDR overlaps, then add comments, sightings, opinions, proposals, or counter-analysis. Distribution levels and custom sharing groups control access down to individual attributes, and instances can synchronize intelligence in real time. MISP supports signing and encrypting notifications with GnuPG or S/MIME, as well as signing and validating shared information. Automation options include an OpenAPI-described REST API, PyMISP, Python enrichment modules, and ZMQ or Kafka streaming. Import and export formats include STIX 1 and 2, OpenIOC, CSV, Suricata, Snort, and Zeek. MISP can run on-premise, in the cloud, or as SaaS, and the project recommends Ubuntu 24.04 or misp-docker for deployment. The software costs nothing under AGPL. Paid yearly support, sustainability support, and training options are also listed.

RightITnow ECM

RightITnow ECM turns events from monitoring tools into root-cause incidents and gives NOC operators and managers a shared view. Configurable rules deduplicate, suppress, and group related alerts. A live dependency graph combines discovered topology with a CMDB and highlights critical paths to show cause and impact. Historical Trends tracks alert volume over 7-day, 30-day, 90-day, and one-year periods, with REST API export. The platform lists 50+ connectors, including SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, Dynatrace, Datadog, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and ServiceNow. It supports bidirectional ticket integration with ServiceNow, Jira Software 9.x and Cloud, and BMC. Workflows can trigger remediation scripts, acknowledgements, or escalations when incidents open or clear; AI Incident Narrator creates plain-language summaries. ECM runs as a cloud service or on premises, with dedicated nodes available across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. Its iOS app lets on-call engineers receive and manage incidents. The free tier costs nothing for up to 100 managed entities; paid pricing is quote based on entity count, with no per-event licensing. A 45-day trial is listed.
