In their own words
Modern Health
Modern Health provides employer-sponsored mental health services for workforces, from self-guided tools to crisis care. Its Adaptive Care Model connects guidance and care across different levels of need. Members can access coaches and therapists, with recommendations shaped by well-being assessments, clinical needs, preferences, language, and provider availability. The company says its provider network spans more than 200 countries and territories and supports more than 80 languages. Employers can use Modern Health Central for aggregate, anonymized utilization and well-being metrics, segmented by department or office location. When enabled by an employer, Benefits Navigation helps members find relevant employer-sponsored well-being benefits in the app or web application. The service integrates with HR and benefits workflows; member login help describes employer SSO through Okta. Android and iOS apps are available, but the full mobile experience is not supported through mobile browsers. Pricing is available through a conversation with Modern Health, with PEPM and usage-based options. Available features depend on the employer’s benefit package, and members may use benefits only with in-network providers.
OpenUp
OpenUp provides workplace mental well-being support for employees, managers, family members and organisations. It brings together psychologists, lifestyle experts, financial coaches, nutritionists and medical doctors, alongside group sessions and self-guided learning. Employees covered by an employer partnership can book unlimited sessions without approval, with appointments available within 48 hours; coaching is offered in 45 languages. A roughly 10-minute Vitality Check gives users personalised recommendations and employers anonymised organisational insights. OpenUp says managers and HR cannot see who uses the service or what they discuss. Its AI coach helps users reflect and choose next steps, but does not diagnose or provide clinical advice; a human escalation pathway is available at any time for acute distress signals. The service is available on web, Android and iOS. People without employer access can book a free first session, then buy a three-session card for €249, paid once, with 25-minute online sessions. Employer partnership pricing is on request.
