NAB Easy Tap vs Zeller

NAB Easy Tap turns an eligible Android device into a contactless payment terminal, so a separate reader is not required. Its Pay as you go plan is free, with a fee charged only when you take a payment and no setup or terminal hardware fees. The 1.30% per tap rate applies to eligible Visa, Mastercard and eftpos transactions; Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Samsung Pay are also listed payment methods. The app requires an NFC-enabled device running Android 14 or later and an internet connection, and it cannot accept offline payments. Users can view transactions, daily totals and daily, weekly and quarterly sales reports. NAB says transactions settled to a NAB Business Everyday Account before 9:30pm AEST/AEDT receive same-day settlement, seven days a week. Easy Tap does not integrate with existing accounting software. Applicants need an active ABN and an eligible business or organization role, and must meet NAB's merchant-facility history condition.

Zeller combines business payments, accounts, cards, invoicing, and financial reporting in a platform for businesses. Its POS includes item and inventory management, receipt and kitchen docket printing, discounts, refunds, and real-time sales reporting. Businesses can create and send unlimited online invoices without a monthly subscription fee, or use a browser-based virtual terminal to key in card payments and create free payment links. Listed in-person rates are 1.3% for Visa and Mastercard and 1.99% for other cards. The POS software and Business Account, app, and dashboard are each listed at free; POS use requires a Zeller Terminal and transaction fees apply. Zeller also lists Expense Cards at £5 a month (first card free) and a terminal at £99, paid once, excluding VAT. Kitchen display, tabs, table mapping, inventory tracking, and complex order routing are marked as coming soon. The service is available on Android, iOS, and web, with 24/7 phone, email, and SMS support.
