In their own words

Neat

Neat is receipt and document tracking software for freelancers, gig workers, small businesses, and people managing personal finances. It captures receipt and invoice images from its mobile apps, email, drag-and-drop uploads, and compatible scanners. OCR extracts merchant, date, tax, and total fields from paper documents. Files can be organized by expense type and tax category, then searched and filtered. Users can add documents to expense reports and match uploaded receipts with streamed transactions. Live views cover cash balance, expense categories, total sales, and other transaction data. Neat integrates with QuickBooks, H&R Block, Quicken, TurboTax, Outlook, Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, Google Contacts, and Constant Contact. QuickBooks Online transfers expense data and attaches receipt or invoice images, retaining expense mapping. Apps run on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. The Neat plan costs $200 a year and includes unlimited storage and support.

OCR Receipt

OCR Receipt is a desktop app for analyzing, renaming and filing receipts, invoices and business documents offline. It extracts supplier, date, tax, total and line-item details, can correct OCR typos and categorize suppliers, and indexes parsed files in a local SQLite database for text search. The product page describes dropping 50 receipts at once for background processing. Reports include PDF audit files with receipt copies appended, and the desktop tour describes HTML summaries. CSV export is available; paid tiers also include Excel export.

The site says OCR and local AI run on the computer, files remain on the local disk, and there is no telemetry or remote server sharing. Paid tiers can optionally use cloud AI with the customer's own API key. The app accepts PDF, PNG and JPG files, and supports Linux, Windows 10/11, and macOS on Intel and Apple Silicon. Free Lite costs nothing; paid one-time plans are listed at 149.00 USD, 199.00 USD and 399.00 USD, with differing batch and seat limits.
