In their own words
Nonym
Nonym is a privacy layer for applications that send data to SaaS vendors. Its AI Proxy uses named entity recognition to find personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, SSNs, card details, API keys, and postal addresses. Before a prompt is sent, detected values are replaced with structured tokens; values are restored in the response before it returns to the app. The proxy works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, and OpenAI-compatible APIs, and supports streaming. Nonym states that processing adds under 20ms overhead. Request logs can include detection counts, PII categories, and confidence scores; full audit trails are available on paid plans. Managed Cloud token mappings stay in memory for the request and are not written to disk. The platform also offers data inventory, discovery, DSAR and retention management, and regulatory workflows. Community is free for non-commercial self-hosting. Cloud is $49 per month plus $0.50 per 10K requests; Self-Host License is $99 per month. Enterprise pricing is custom, starting ~$2,500/month.
PrivacyEngine
PrivacyEngine is a web-based SaaS platform for managing data privacy work and demonstrating data-protection compliance. It supports GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA, and HIPAA programs and also references ISO, AI, Article 27, and NIS2 compliance. Its modules cover records of processing activities, data-subject requests, DPIAs, retention, vendor risk, and incident and breach management. A risk register supports identifying and mitigating data-protection risks, while embeddable custom forms support subject-access request intake. The learning management system covers privacy training and tracks employee progress. PrivacyEngine lists over 100 integrations across areas such as analytics, CRM and marketing, cloud and storage, productivity, security and monitoring, and finance and accounting. These can automate data discovery, classification, retention enforcement, and request fulfillment; high-volume or enterprise connectors may incur usage-based fees. The Free plan is free and includes up to five staff, with five ROPAs, risks, retention periods, documents, and logs. Dedicated consulting support is available across plans. PrivacyEngine states that it achieved SOC 2 Type II compliance across Security, Confidentiality, and Availability criteria.
