In their own words
Openbook
Openbook is a team workspace organized into organizations, spaces, and rooms, with 21 room types for planning, writing, discussion, and tracking. Its build agent can connect to GitHub and GitLab repositories, make changes, run builds, and open pull requests. Organizations can use platform-run AI models or configure provider keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, xAI, Google, and Azure OpenAI. Built-in connectors include WordPress, Slack, Figma, Shopify, Stripe, Google Calendar, Cal.com, Calendly, five helpdesks, HubSpot, and Salesforce. Connector writes are disabled by default and require explicit enablement; irreversible third-party actions run only in auto mode. Files can be stored on Openbook, S3-compatible storage, Dropbox, or Microsoft SharePoint/Teams; default server storage is limited to 30MB. A read-only Board API exposes Kanban boards as JSON and supports change webhooks. Free costs nothing and allows up to 10 editing members and 3 spaces; viewers and guests are free. New organizations start with a 14-day Pro trial without a card. Business costs $15 a month. The intended audience includes product managers, founders, small teams, and agencies.
SimpleOrgChart
SimpleOrgChart turns Microsoft Entra information read through Microsoft Graph into an interactive web org chart and employee directory. The chart supports panning, zooming, branch expansion and collapse, and keeping selected subtrees hidden. The searchable directory has configurable filters for guest and disabled users. Admin reports cover missing managers, sign-in activity, recent hires, filtered users, missing profile pictures or hire dates, and data quality issues. Charts can be exported as SVG, PNG or PDF snapshots, while reports and chart data can be exported to XLSX. Scheduled email reports can run daily, weekly or monthly through configured SMTP, but this feature is disabled by default. The default setup leaves the chart public and password-protects administrator pages; optional OIDC can require Microsoft sign-in and group membership. Some reports and functions require extra Graph permissions and synced data. The project recommends Docker Compose and does not support local execution outside Docker. It is free open-source software under the MIT License. Deployment requires Docker and an Azure AD/Entra tenant with privileges to create app registrations and grant Graph application permissions.
