In their own words

OpenEduCat

OpenEduCat is a modular education platform for institutions, available through cloud hosting or on-premise deployment. Institutions can select modules and add more as needed, with no per-student fees. Its systems connect student information with admissions, fees, library, hostel, and other institutional functions; the SIS supports real-time collaboration around student data. Community Edition supports standards and sign-on options including SCORM, xAPI, LTI 1.3, SAML, Shibboleth, OAuth2, Azure AD, and Google Workspace. The platform also lists assessments, certificates, API access, and Android and iOS apps. Its Free Edition has no learner cap or time limit, although capacity depends on hardware. The Free Edition uses the LGPL-3.0 license, with source code public on GitHub; institutions own their data and can self-host without student limits or license call-home. Self-hosting can use Linux, Python 3.10+, and PostgreSQL 14+. A 15-day trial is offered without a credit card. The listed Core plan is $489 a year, and the site lists a No Refund Policy.

School Console

School Console is a campus platform for K-12 schools, colleges, universities, and coaching or training institutes. Its 28 modules cover workflows from admissions and fees to attendance, examinations, learning management, transport, communication, payroll, finance, procurement, and alumni. The K-12 offering describes support for CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, IB, and most state boards. AI tools can generate quizzes, evaluate descriptive answers, fill admissions forms, recommend lessons, and draft announcements; each output requires human review. Schools can configure OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini by school and feature, or turn AI off. The maker describes a web portal that is offline-first and installable as a PWA, alongside Android and iOS apps. Security provisions include per-customer databases, separate backups and encryption keys, role-based permissions, audit logs, per-device sessions, and TLS 1.2 or higher. There is no self-serve trial or freemium tier, but the maker offers a no-cost, no-commitment demo using an institution's data. Subscription pricing varies by institution size, modules, and implementation length; a written quote is provided within five business days. Implementation is a separate one-time fee, with no published amount.
