In their own words
OpenGRC
OpenGRC is a web application for cyber governance, risk and compliance aimed at small and midsized businesses and teams. It covers risk management, controls and implementations, audits, vendor management, incident response and project management. Audit workflows handle evidence requests, progress tracking and report generation. Vendor assessments can use a dedicated portal, customizable questionnaires and weighted scoring. Listed frameworks include NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC and PCI DSS. The platform has no third-party integrations built in, but provides a REST API; the API limit is 60 requests per minute per user, or per IP for unauthenticated requests. Enterprise includes AI risk assessments, automated vendor survey responses and AI gap assessments. The free Community edition is self-hosted and requires a web server and database server. Enterprise Basic costs $4,500 per year, while Enterprise Enhanced costs $7,500 per year. Hosted plans state a 99.5% monthly uptime commitment and say customer data is not used to train AI models.
PowerDMS Policy
PowerDMS Policy is cloud-based policy management software for public safety agencies. It centralizes policies, procedures, and operational documents while supporting version control, review and approval workflows, acknowledgments, and audit trails. Employees can ask plain-language questions about approved policies and receive links to source documents; search history remains available to employees for 30 days. Personnel can read policies and complete electronic acknowledgments on iOS and Android devices, though the app requires an active PowerDMS license. Connections include Microsoft Office, OneDrive, Google Drive, PowerStandards, PowerReady, PowerRecall, training management, and internal affairs software. PowerDMS lists SOC 2, HIPAA, and CJIS attestations and says data uses 256-bit AES FIPS 140-2 encryption in transit and at rest. Hosting uses U.S.-based AWS GovCloud data centers with disaster recovery. The core platform requires a modern browser. Pricing is a custom quote based on selected products and agency size.
