In their own words

OrgNice

OrgNice turns a Google Sheet into a live staff directory and org chart, reading the sheet when someone views them. The web directory supports search by any field, card or table layouts, and profiles in a side panel or on separate pages. Org charts can be coloured by department or location, while data validation flags gaps and loops in reporting lines and repairs common ones. Map View uses location columns and supports up to five named views per project. Charts can be exported as PNG, SVG or PDF. OrgNice connects to Google Sheets and can be embedded in Google Sites, Confluence or WordPress; profile links can unfurl with a name and photo in Slack or email. Google OAuth 2.0 grants read-only access to the connected sheet. OrgNice says it does not store sheet contents, while account and project configuration data are stored on Google Cloud Platform in the United States. A free plan and seven-day trial are listed; paid plans start at $20/mo with annual billing.

SimpleOrgChart

SimpleOrgChart turns Microsoft Entra information read through Microsoft Graph into an interactive web org chart and employee directory. The chart supports panning, zooming, branch expansion and collapse, and keeping selected subtrees hidden. The searchable directory has configurable filters for guest and disabled users. Admin reports cover missing managers, sign-in activity, recent hires, filtered users, missing profile pictures or hire dates, and data quality issues. Charts can be exported as SVG, PNG or PDF snapshots, while reports and chart data can be exported to XLSX. Scheduled email reports can run daily, weekly or monthly through configured SMTP, but this feature is disabled by default. The default setup leaves the chart public and password-protects administrator pages; optional OIDC can require Microsoft sign-in and group membership. Some reports and functions require extra Graph permissions and synced data. The project recommends Docker Compose and does not support local execution outside Docker. It is free open-source software under the MIT License. Deployment requires Docker and an Azure AD/Entra tenant with privileges to create app registrations and grant Graph application permissions.
