Overview

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Warsaw, Positionly combines ranking history with research and reporting tools rather than focusing on rank checks alone. All tracked keywords are checked every 24 hours, with new results available around noon in the user's time zone. That predictable cadence suits routine monitoring, though it is not a live view of search positions.

Its range extends from backlink review and crawlability checks to branded, recurring reports. Capacity scales substantially across the paid tiers, but the user, keyword and backlink limits mean plan choice matters for teams managing several client sites.

Key features

Rank tracking and competitor analysis

Positionly tracks rankings on local and global search engines and retains historical data, so users can follow movement over time. Competitor comparisons include rankings, ranking history and overlapping keywords. That context can help identify where rivals compete for the same searches; the daily check interval is better suited to regular reporting than rapid position changes.

Backlinks, audits and reports

The inbound-links tools, powered by Majestic, support keyword-level searches, competitive backlink analysis and link-quality review. Website audits check crawlability and identify missing keywords, adding practical site checks alongside ranking data. Reports can be customized and branded, scheduled or run manually, and exported as CSV or PDF. These capabilities make Positionly more useful to teams that need to share findings than a tracker limited to a rankings screen.

Team access and integrations

Users can invite colleagues or clients with read or write access to one or more sites. White-label options include a custom domain, platform colors, company name and logo, plus removal of Positionly branding. Google Analytics integration is listed, and add-ons can sync with Google Spreadsheets. API access is included from Standard upward; white-label features start with Agency.

Pricing

Positionly has a free plan and a 14-day trial with no obligation or credit card required to start. The Free plan is free and covers 5 keywords and 1 website, making it suitable for a very small test rather than broader monitoring.

Basic — 15.00 USD per month (billed 12 months (20% off)): 100 keywords, 10 websites, 10 competitors, 2,500 backlinks and 1 user. It is the least expensive paid option, but its single seat and keyword ceiling suit an individual more than a collaborative team.
Medium — 39.00 USD per month (billed 12 months (20% off)): 500 keywords, 20 websites, 20 competitors, 10,000 backlinks and 5 users. This is a more workable step for a small team sharing account access.
Standard — 79.00 USD per month (billed 12 months (20% off)): 2,000 keywords, 50 websites, 50 competitors, 20,000 backlinks, 10 users and API access. It fits larger reporting workloads that need programmatic access.
Agency — 159.00 USD per month (billed 12 months (20% off)): 5,000 keywords, 100 websites, 100 competitors, 50,000 backlinks, 20 users, API access and white-label options. The expanded seats and branding are aimed at agencies serving clients.
Platinum — 399.00 USD per month (billed 12 months (20% off)): 12,000 keywords, 500 websites, 500 competitors, 150,000 backlinks, 100 users, API access and white-label options. Its capacity is for large portfolios; smaller teams may not need the jump from Agency.

Every paid price shown is tied to 12 months billed with a 20% discount, so the annual commitment is important when comparing the entry price. Positionly offers email contact and phone numbers for configuring a custom plan.

Platforms

Positionly supports web, iOS and Android, as well as an API on Standard, Agency and Platinum plans. Mobile apps extend access beyond the browser, while the API is reserved for plans above Basic and Medium.

Who it's for

Positionly is a good fit for businesses and agencies that want daily rankings, competitor and backlink research, audits, and shareable reports in one service. Its multiple-site capacity and access controls help teams distribute monitoring across colleagues or clients. A solo user can start on Basic, but the one-user limit and annual billing are worth weighing; anyone needing only a handful of tracked terms may find the free tier sufficient. Readers seeking live position updates should look elsewhere, since checks run daily.

Pros and cons

Pros: Daily checks and ranking history pair current positions with a record of change over time.
Pros: Competitor, backlink and audit tools add research and site-health context beyond rank tracking.
Pros: Custom, branded, scheduled reports can be exported as CSV or PDF, which supports recurring client or internal updates.
Cons: The free plan's five keywords and one website are too limited for substantial monitoring.
Cons: Paid pricing is presented on a 12-month billing term, and Basic allows only one user.
Cons: API and white-label access require higher tiers, so they are not available to the least expensive subscribers.

Alternatives

For a wider comparison, browse Rank Tracking Software or SEO tools. Choose Geogrid instead if its free plan of 200 credits and one weekly scheduled rescan better fits a light, credit-based workflow. Whitespark Local Rank Tracker is an alternative for buyers focused on location keywords; its Small Business plan has 100 location keywords, unlimited domains and locations at 14.00 USD per month billed annually. Marketing Miner is another freemium option. Raven Tools is another freemium option with a trial. Zutrix is a freemium alternative with a trial. FreeSERP is a freemium web option. SerpRobot is a freemium alternative with a 4.99 USD per month plan for 75 keyword updates per 24 hours. Topvisor is a freemium option with web, API and extension platforms.

Verdict

Choose Positionly if your priority is a steady daily view of rankings supported by competitor research, backlink review, audits and client-ready reports. Its strongest case is breadth that scales from a single user to agency-sized portfolios. Look elsewhere if you need frequent intraday checks, or if the annual paid commitment and tier-gated API or white-label access do not fit your budget or workflow.
