In their own words
Postmark
Postmark delivers and tracks application email as an alternative to SMTP or Sendmail. It separates transactional and broadcast messages into different Message Streams and IP infrastructure. Developers can send through REST API, SMTP, or multi-region SMTP routing, with official libraries for Node.js, Python, Rails, Ruby, PHP, and.NET. Inbound messages can be converted to JSON and sent to a webhook URL. Tracking includes delivery, bounces, spam, opens, and links, with event webhooks. Editable responsive templates cover transactional messages such as password resets, receipts, and invitations. The free Developer plan costs nothing, provides 100 emails per month, permits no overages, and does not expire. Basic starts at $15 a month for 10,000 emails per month; extra emails cost $1.80 per 1,000 and are calculated at the end of the billing cycle. Unused emails do not roll over. Postmark lists API and web access. Its iOS app was sunset in June 2025 and is no longer supported.
ReachMail
ReachMail provides email marketing and transactional email delivery through its web platform and API. Campaign tools include drag-and-drop and WYSIWYG editors, templates, and a spam checker. Audience features cover contact management, list imports, signup forms, and both list and dynamic segmentation. Automation includes drip campaigns, automated messages, customer journeys, and advanced automation features. Reporting tracks opens, clicks, bounces, and engagement; relay reports are available through the interface, API, and webhooks. The SMTP and API relay is presented for marketing, apps, websites, transactional notifications, and devices such as printers and security systems. ReachMail says messages are signed automatically with DKIM and SPF, and supports custom DKIM, SPF, and branded tracking domains. Listed integrations include Zapier, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, Matomo, OpenWebAnalytics, and Orbi. The free plan covers fewer than 5,000 contacts and fewer than 15,000 emails per month. Paid plans start at $8/mo, and a 14-day trial is offered. New accounts receive 250 free relay credits. ReachMail is based in San Diego and says it serves small businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, and Fortune 500 companies.
