In their own words

PreProducer

PreProducer is web-based software for film production, bringing story development, shoot planning, financing and budgeting into one workspace. Its story tools include script writing and imports, scene analysis, outlines, index cards, image treatments, character profiles and storyboards. For production, teams can create horizontal or vertical shooting plans, break down scripts and departments, manage pre- and post-production calendars, prepare call sheets and daily reports, and maintain shot, cast, location and crew lists. Budgeting covers financing and cashflow plans, FFA and ZDF calculations, cost status, regional effects, travel costs and equipment. Crews collaborate online, with unlimited project staff per project access. The browser-based service supports current browsers on Windows, macOS and Linux; it also offers an API and integrations with Final Draft, DramaQueen, Celtx and Adobe Story. A free plan and a seven-day demo project are listed. Single-project bookings start at €14.95 per month for 18 months; monthly subscriptions start at €59.00 per month with a one-year minimum term.

Prescene

Prescene connects scripts, drafts, characters, scenes, and versions so users can question scripts, compare drafts, run Coverage, and produce script-grounded working documents. Coverage includes a scorecard, written feedback, and scene references on Plus, Pro, and Max plans. Series analysis follows characters, plotlines, story arcs, progression, and tension across episodes. Built-in workflows create breakdowns, shot lists, shooting schedules, finance plans, risk memos, and Coverage reports. The free Screenplay Editor supports writing, screenplay formatting, autosave, checkpoints, imports, and standard exports. Editable drafts can be imported from PDF, Final Draft, Fountain, or Fade In. Prescene supports Google Drive selection, Google Docs and Sheets exports, and configured MCP or API connections. API access on Plus, Pro, and Max supports script uploads, story-data reading, and workflow execution. Customer content is private by default and not used to train AI models; Prescene states that AI providers retain no script data. The Editor plan is free, while Plus starts at $49 a month.
