Overview

Double-entry accounting underpins REI Hub’s Profit and Loss, Statement of Cash Flows, and Balance Sheet reports. Every plan reports by property or unit, making it easier to keep portfolio performance separated; owner statements, bank reconciliation, tenant charges, and both accounting bases are also supported.

Schedule E reports can be produced for each property, a useful fit for US rental owners organizing tax information. Bank and credit-card feeds connect through Plaid and Yodlee, and REI Hub says those providers do not expose users’ bank credentials to it. Integrations with TurboTenant and RentRedi bring in property and payment information. For vacation rentals, the system consumes Airbnb and VRBO payout statements.

Key features

Portfolio books and tax reporting

Property- and unit-level reporting is available on every plan, so the core accounting view is not reserved for Professional subscribers. The Free plans include revenue and expense tracking, real-estate-specific categorization, loan and fixed-asset tracking, and Schedule E and tax reports. This is a substantive starting point for owners who mainly need organized books and tax output.

Transaction imports and mobile access

Professional adds automatic transaction import and booking rules to the listed tracking features, reducing manual categorization work for owners with recurring activity. The mobile apps for iOS and Android are companions to the web version, not full replacements; users who need the complete feature set should plan to work on the web.

Security and support

REI Hub says it uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. Support is available to all customers by email and by phone at (888) 939-6865 during 9am–5pm EST business hours.

Pricing

REI Hub is freemium and offers a 14-day trial. Professional plans are billed annually: 9.00 USD per year for up to 3 units, 15.00 USD per year for up to 10 units, 27.00 USD per year for up to 20 units, and 48.00 USD per year for unlimited units. Each includes automatic transaction import, automatic booking rules, revenue and expense tracking, and loan and fixed-asset tracking. The step-up prices are modest as unit limits rise, while the unlimited tier avoids a unit cap.

Free plans are offered for up to 3, 10, or 20 units, as well as unlimited units, with revenue and expense tracking, real-estate-specific categorization, loan and fixed-asset tracking, and Schedule E and tax reports. Their price is custom pricing. Compared with Professional, the described Free inclusions omit automatic transaction import and booking rules, so owners comfortable handling those workflows manually can retain the core accounting and tax tools without those automations.

Platforms

REI Hub runs on the web and has Android and iOS apps. Because the apps do not provide all web functionality, mobile access is best treated as supplementary. The product is designed for US real estate investors, supports and displays only US dollars, and cannot switch currencies or calculate exchange rates; it is not a fit for portfolios that need multi-currency accounting.

Who it's for

REI Hub suits US rental-property owners, real estate investors, and their financial professionals who want property-specific double-entry books, financial statements, and Schedule E output. It can also serve short-term rental owners using Airbnb or VRBO payout statements. It is not property-management software: rent collection, listings, tenant management and screening, and maintenance coordination are outside its scope. Owners needing those operations alongside accounting should choose a broader management product.

Pros and cons

Pros: Property- and unit-level reports on every plan keep portfolio accounting segmented without requiring a paid tier.
Pros: Schedule E output and real-estate-specific categorization are included in the Free plan lineup, giving US owners a useful tax-oriented foundation.
Pros: Professional includes automatic bank transaction import and booking rules, which can cut routine bookkeeping work.
Cons: It omits core property-management operations such as rent collection and maintenance coordination, so it cannot replace a management system.
Cons: US-dollar-only accounting rules out users who need currency conversion or non-US portfolio accounting.
Cons: Mobile apps are incomplete companions, making the web version necessary for full functionality.

Alternatives

Property Accounting Software is a useful place to compare the category if REI Hub’s narrow scope or US-only currency support is a mismatch.

Choose Brikone if its free Landlord plan for up to 3 units or its Android, iOS, API, and web platform coverage better suits your needs. Landlord Studio is another freemium option, with a Go plan capped at 3 units, one user, and 10 documents. Consider Hemlane if rental advertising, applicant and tenant screening, or rental accounting are priorities. Hutstack Property offers a free tier for landlords managing 1–10 properties, including rent tracking, tenant records, lease reminders, maintenance requests, expense tracking, and an owner dashboard.

PROMAS The Professional Landlord, Ayillo Tenant Screening, RealPage OneSite, and MRI Property Management X are alternatives to compare if REI Hub is not the right fit.

Verdict

Choose REI Hub if you are a US rental-property owner or accountant who wants property-level double-entry books and Schedule E reporting, with Professional automation available at clearly tiered annual prices. Look elsewhere if you need tenant-facing management tools, complete mobile functionality, or multi-currency accounting.
