Overview

Rentberry brings rental search and landlord tools together, serving tenants, individual landlords, property managers, agents, and brokers. Renters can search listings in more than 90 countries; landlords can list properties and handle parts of the application and tenancy workflow. That breadth makes it more compelling for users coordinating a rental than for someone seeking only a standalone payment tool.

Key features

Search and listing

Landlords can post properties for free, add custom amenities, and use an AI generator to draft descriptions from listing details. Listings expire after 30 days, so keeping a property visible requires renewing it. There is no stated property-count cap, but businesses with over 100 properties are directed to contact Rentberry, and bulk upload for more than 10 properties at once requires contacting customer service.

US landlords can pay for promotion and syndication across major rental platforms. Inquiry management and showing scheduling support the listing workflow, though the 30-day expiration makes this a less hands-off choice for owners who expect listings to remain active indefinitely.

Applications and tenancy

Rentberry supports online applications, tour requests, custom rent offers, e-signing, payments, maintenance requests, and tenant screening. Its screening reports are powered by TransUnion and screening is available in the US. Lease documents are handled through Dropbox Sign, while rent collection requires landlords to set up a Stripe account; Stripe payout fees vary by the country of the bank account. These integrations extend the workflow, but they also mean screening is geographically limited and payment costs are not uniform.

The iOS and Android apps include custom-offer negotiations, maintenance requests, and e-signing. Rentberry says customer support is available 24/7. Its privacy policy says transmissions are encrypted using SSL while acknowledging that electronic storage and internet transmission cannot be completely secure.

Pricing

Rentberry has free plans for both sides, with paid services for particular tasks rather than a single all-inclusive paid tier. The free options suit tenants and landlords who need the core workflow, but paid checks, collection, and promotion can add up for landlords using several services.

Tenants — Free: 0.00 USD per free. Includes rent negotiation, 24/7 support, maintenance requests, property tour requests, eSign, and cloud data storage. It is a broad starting point for renters without an upfront platform charge.
Landlords — Free: 0.00 USD per free. Includes property listing, 24/7 support, maintenance request tracking, and tenant screening requests (US only). Listings expire after 30 days, and screening requests do not eliminate the separate cost of reports.
Application fee: 9.99 USD per once for a tenant application.
Tenant insurance: 11.00 USD per month (billed from $11/mo).
eSign and cloud data storage: 19.99 USD per once for a landlord service.
Rent collection: 19.99 USD per once for a landlord service, in addition to any country-dependent Stripe payout fee.
Property agent/broker fee: 24.99 USD per month (billed $24.99/mo).
Credit and background check: 39.99 USD per once for both reports, US only.
Property promotion and syndication: 49.99 USD per month for a promoted listing and partner website syndication.

There is no free trial. The free plans are the economical choice for basic use; landlords who need reports or wider exposure should compare the per-service and recurring charges against their expected volume.

Platforms

Rentberry runs on the web, Android, and iOS. The mobile apps cover selected ongoing tasks, including offer negotiation, maintenance requests, and e-signing.

Who it's for

Rentberry is a fit for tenants who want search, applications, negotiation, and lease tasks in one place, and for landlords or property professionals who want listing and tenancy tools with a free entry point. It is less suited to landlords who need screening outside the US, want listings to stay live without periodic renewal, or expect to upload a large batch without arranging support-assisted bulk upload.

Pros and cons

Pros: Free plans cover core tenant and landlord tasks, reducing the cost of getting started.
Pros: Search, listing, tour requests, applications, negotiation, signing, payments, and maintenance span much of the rental workflow.
Pros: Landlords can add any number of properties, with custom amenities and AI-assisted description drafting.
Cons: Listings expire after 30 days, requiring renewal to remain active.
Cons: Screening is US-only, and both reports cost 39.99 USD per once.
Cons: Rent collection depends on a Stripe account, with payout fees that vary by bank-account country.
Cons: Promotion costs 49.99 USD per month, and larger bulk uploads require customer-service coordination.

Alternatives

For a dedicated rent-payment comparison, browse Rent Payment Software; for tools centered on publishing rental properties, see Rental Property Listing Software.

Baselane Rent Collection is worth considering when banking, bookkeeping, and automated rent reminders matter more than Rentberry's broader tenant-landlord workflow; its Core plan is free and includes those essentials. Choose RentPay when a free account for sending rent is the priority: it charges no monthly fee, though payment methods carry percentage fees.

RentMerchant may suit a small portfolio that fits its free tier of up to three properties, while its Pro plan offers unlimited properties and units for 15.00 USD per month billed annually. Dawzer RMS is another option for a small operation: its permanent free plan covers up to 3 units and includes every feature, but it is web-only.

Consider DoorStax if you prefer a paid property-manager plan with a free trial. EstateDeck offers a forever-free DIY Landlord tier for up to 5 units, making it relevant to owners who want digital leases and maintenance tracking within that limit. RentRedi has a free plan for up to 2 properties and supports Android and iOS. MagicDoor is a paid alternative with an Advanced AI Assistant plan on a one-year contract, starting at 25 units.

Verdict

Choose Rentberry if you want a free starting point for both tenants and landlords, with search and a wide range of rental tasks in one service. Its strongest case is the breadth of the shared workflow; look elsewhere if your decision depends on screening outside the US, uninterrupted listing visibility, or rent collection without country-dependent Stripe payout fees.
