Saasu
Saasu is cloud-based online accounting software for small businesses, available on web, iOS, and Android. Its accounting features include invoicing and quotes, expenses, payroll, recurring billing, reports, cashflow forecasts, inventory, and multi-currency accounting. Daily bank and PayPal feeds, transaction matching, and bank rules support reconciliation. Payroll includes STP, PAYG, Superstream, tax calculations, timesheets, and pay runs. Saasu supports more than 50 foreign currencies and updates exchange rates daily; built-in payment gateways include Stripe, PayPal, eWay, and Braintree. An API supports Ruby and C#.NET SDKs and XML and JSON exchange. Saasu says it stores data at two Sydney locations, backs it up every 15 minutes, and uses SSL-encrypted web traffic and two-factor authentication. Plans are priced per accounting file, billed annually, include GST, and impose transaction and other plan-specific limits. The Small plan is $20 a month billed / year. There is no free plan, but any version can be used free for 30 days from signup.
Xero Practice Manager
Xero Practice Manager is web-based practice management software for accounting and bookkeeping firms in Xero’s partner program. It is now integrated into Xero Partner Hub, where practices can manage jobs, client work and compliance tasks. Staff can be assigned jobs, check schedules and availability, and set deadlines and milestones. Time can be recorded by duration or start and stop time, then used to create progress or final invoices with fixed prices, rates and markups. Reporting covers jobs, time, costs, productivity and recoverable costs, with options to run standard reports, customise samples or create reports. Practices can configure statuses, categories, templates, workflows and branded documents such as quotes and engagement letters. Invoices and client details sync with the firm’s Xero accounts, and paid invoices appear in Partner Hub. Xero Tax and Xero Workpapers, powered by BGL, are included at no extra cost with the subscription. The product is available on the web, has a free plan for Silver, Gold or Platinum partners, and offers a 14-day trial. Paid plans start at 65 NZD a month for one user; prices exclude GST.
