In their own words
Secure Message
Secure Message is a self-hosted inbound email gateway that filters mail before it reaches an existing mail server. Its Community features include Postfix content filtering, spam scoring, DNSBL, SPF, DKIM and DMARC checks, quarantine, mail logs and administrator MFA. Professional adds a recipient web portal: recipients open protected messages with a one-time code, without an account or app. Its rules can encrypt, redirect or block sensitive outbound messages, and recipient checks can use SMTP callout, LDAP or directory lookups. Stored messages, attachments and quarantine use Fernet encryption with AES-128-CBC and HMAC-SHA256; the key remains on the customer host. Access controls include TOTP administrator MFA, role-based access and audit logging, with logs exportable to CSV. Enterprise adds AI Autopilot tuning, eDiscovery and archive search, DLP and disclaimers; Autopilot and the classifier are off by default. The gateway can sit in front of Microsoft 365 or an existing mail server without mailbox migration. The single-node appliance runs on Debian 13, with 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM recommended as a starting point.
Trustifi Outbound Shield
Trustifi Outbound Shield scans outgoing email against administrator policies and encrypts messages containing sensitive information. Its real-time rules can apply encryption even when a sender has not done so manually, and Trustifi says messages use AES-256-bit end-to-end encryption. Recipients can open encrypted messages with one click without a portal login or password. Senders can recall messages, revoke access to attachments, and prevent forwarding. Tokenization replaces sensitive information with random characters while leaving the rest of an email clear. One-Click Compliance checks messages against more than 10 regulatory guidelines; listed examples include HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and PII. Senders can track opens, downloads, and link clicks, while Postmark adds a digital signature described as proof of delivery and reading. A backup system lets users review sent email and send new messages if their email service is down. Integrations include Microsoft Office 365, Exchange on-premise, and Google Workspace. The product is paid, with pricing available on request and no free plan. It is intended for small and mid-size businesses, managed service providers, and regulated industries.
