Overview

Seglo brings booking, pet records, team management and payment tools into one system, with web, iOS and Android access. Its strongest distinction is grooming-aware scheduling: appointments can take account of the steps involved, staff skills and equipment such as baths, tables and dryers. That makes it more relevant to operations juggling shared resources than a basic appointment calendar.

Pet records connect the appointment to ongoing care. Grooming Care tracks care cycles, suggests when a pet is due and can book from that cycle automatically. That is useful for businesses built on repeat visits, though operators should consider whether automatic cycle-based booking suits their customer relationships.

Key features

Customer communications include email booking reminders, photo messaging and automatic Google review requests. SMS reminders are paid, which matters for businesses that rely on texts as a routine channel. Recurring appointments and staff scheduling support repeat work and team coordination.

Paid Business plans include online payments and Tap to Pay on iPhone; processing fees are separate. Scale adds two-way Xero sync, which is the relevant tier for businesses that want booking operations connected to their accounting workflow. Seglo also offers an optional AI Receptionist: it can answer routine booking calls using the business’s services and availability, then pass questions requiring human judgement back to the business. The $149.00 AUD monthly charge is only the base cost; call usage is extra.

Seglo says it complies with Australia’s Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, and cites encryption, role-based access, audit logging and multi-factor authentication as safeguards. It says it does not sell personal information, but data may be processed or stored in Australia, Singapore, the United States or other locations used by service providers. Support is available by live chat and email; email support is during Australian business hours, with an intended response within two business days.

Pricing

The Free plan is free with no monthly fee. It allows one person at one location and includes online booking, pet records, rostering, pay calculation and commission. It is a credible starting point for a solo groomer, but it lacks the paid plans’ online payments and Tap to Pay, and its single-person, single-location ceiling rules out a growing team.

Starter is 49.00 AUD per month, billed monthly, for one to three people at one location. It adds Grooming Care, online payments and Tap to Pay, with $10 monthly credit. It suits a small team wanting payment and repeat-care tools without moving to a larger tier. Growth costs 99.00 AUD per month, billed monthly, for four to six people at one location, with $25 monthly credit; intake and consent forms, leave management and timesheets make it the more suitable step for businesses formalising team administration.

Scale costs 199.00 AUD per month, billed monthly, and covers seven to 15 people across unlimited locations, with $50 monthly credit, automatic gap filling and Xero two-way sync. Enterprise is 349.00 AUD per month, billed monthly, for 16 to 30 people and unlimited locations, with $100 monthly credit and priority support with a four-hour response. These tiers are aimed at multi-location or larger operations; the rising price buys capacity and specific operational tools, not merely a higher seat cap.

Seglo Phone is 79.00 AUD per month, billed month to month, and billing starts when the number goes live. Two devices are included; each extra device costs A$29/month + GST, and there is a one-time A$149 setup + GST. Standard Australian calls, SMS and MMS are included under fair use. This is a separate phone offering, so device and setup costs matter alongside the monthly price.

AI Receptionist costs 149.00 AUD per month, billed monthly, with call usage charged separately: A$0.40/min inbound AI calls and A$0.70/min outbound AI calls, excluding GST. It is suited to businesses that value call handling enough to accept variable usage charges. Seglo offers a 14-day trial; the Free plan has no monthly fee. Payment processing fees are separate, and SMS reminders are paid.

Platforms

Seglo runs on Android, iOS and the web. Its Appointments app is for iPhone and Android, its Business app is for iPad, and its Phone app is for iPhone and Android. That spread supports mobile appointment and phone workflows alongside browser access, while the Business app’s listed device scope is iPad.

Who it's for

Seglo is designed for commercial grooming operations, including registered sole traders, partnerships and companies. A solo operator can start on Free; teams can move through seat-based tiers, while Scale and Enterprise accommodate unlimited locations. It is a stronger fit for grooming businesses coordinating equipment, staff and repeat pet-care cycles than for anyone seeking only a lightweight calendar.

Pros and cons

Pros: Scheduling accounts for grooming steps, skills and equipment, which is useful when appointments compete for shared resources.
Pros: Grooming Care can connect care-cycle tracking to automatic rebooking, supporting repeat visits.
Pros: The free tier includes booking, pet records and staff/pay tools for one person and one location.
Cons: Free is capped at one person and one location, so adding staff or sites requires a paid tier.
Cons: SMS reminders and payment processing carry separate costs, making the listed plan price an incomplete measure for text-heavy or payment-heavy businesses.
Cons: AI Receptionist usage is charged per minute on top of its monthly fee, and Seglo Phone has extra-device and setup charges.

Alternatives

Pet Grooming Scheduling Software is a useful category comparison for readers weighing grooming-focused booking options. Choose GroomWork if a free plan capped at 40 monthly appointments or a $24.00 USD monthly Solo plan is a better fit. DaySmart Pet starts at $29.00 USD per month with payments or $39.00 USD without, and may suit readers comparing a paid option with a stated allowance of 500 text messages and 1,000 emails monthly. Choose Pawfinity if its $100.00 USD per month Royal Package, billed annually, fits a business seeking unlimited calendars, appointments and employee logins.

Furbello offers a $39.00 USD monthly Solo plan for up to three active staff, 250 automated texts and unlimited appointments, customers and pets; that may appeal to a small team prioritising those stated allowances. CalMov has a free web-only Lite plan for one person and up to two services, with unlimited services for $6/month; consider it if a web-only, service-limited free start is preferable. Groomer.io is another option, with a $99.00 USD monthly Software plan described as a limited-time $79/month per storefront or van and unlimited SMS messages.

PawScheduler may suit a solo operator wanting a free allowance of up to 50 appointments monthly, unlimited clients and pet profiles, and up to five services. Collar is another alternative for readers comparing grooming software.

Verdict

Seglo is a strong fit for commercial groomers who need appointments to reflect equipment and staff constraints and want pet-care cycles tied to repeat booking. Its free plan gives a solo operator a meaningful starting point, while paid tiers add payment tools, team capacity and operational features. Look elsewhere if separate SMS, processing or AI-call charges are a poor fit, or if the one-person free ceiling is too restrictive.
