| Integrations | The maker describes partnerships and developer integrations but does not list a catalog of named third-party software connectors. | The API page documents REST endpoints, a webhook for newly created records, and an MCP endpoint usable by MCP-compatible clients; it says Trainora implements the protocol rather than integrating with a specific vendor. |
| Purpose | SkillsEngine provides skills-based analytics, labor-market insights, and career-alignment tools for work and learning communities. | Trainora is a self-hosted training matrix for tracking people’s competencies, completion evidence, and expiry dates. |
| Security | The privacy policy says the site uses 128-bit SSL encryption and commercially reasonable security measures. | API keys can be read-only or read-and-write, and a key cannot exceed the permissions of its associated user. |
| Support | Support is provided through online resources and a request form, with an advertised goal of responding within two business days. | Email support covers installation and defects in delivered code, usually replies within a day or two, and excludes custom development and server administration. |

In their own words
SkillsEngine
SkillsEngine provides skills-based analytics, labor-market insights, and career-alignment tools for work and learning communities. Its AI-driven translation tool turns job posts, resumes, curricula, and other text into skills profiles. Users can create profiles for jobs, curriculum, credentials, and individuals, then share and co-edit them with partners and subject-matter experts. The platform supports surveys to gather expert feedback and validate skill requirements at scale, and offers a curated library of profiles and skill sets, including templates. Labor-market insights incorporate U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data. APIs are available in beta with custom organization accounts; listed endpoints translate text, search skills and skill sets, find job-profile templates, retrieve profile skills, and list custom profiles. A free personal account allows one profile. Basic Team costs $999 a month, with unlimited seats. API add-ons are $499 a month or $999 a month, each in addition to Basic Team. The service is available on web and through its API, but there is no mobile application.
