In their own words

Smarsh Archive

Smarsh Archive stores business communications in a searchable archive for compliance, discovery, and business insight. It retains native content with metadata from more than 100 channels, including email, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom, mobile SMS, social media, chat, instant messages, and voice. Custom channels can capture additional sources. Search includes AI tools, filtering, and faceted views, with exports in PST, EML, HTML, XML, and optionally EDRM formats. Retention controls include policy rules, immutable WORM storage, configurable legal holds, and defensible deletion. Smarsh lists support for SEC Rule 17a-4, FINRA, MiFID II, FCA, CIRO, and other supervisory expectations. Safeguards include TLS in transit, AES 256 at rest, isolated key management, SIEM monitoring, record hashes, and multi-availability-zone redundancy. APIs cover capture, search, export, retrieval, reporting, discovery, surveillance, identity management, and ingestion. The archive is custom-configured for organizational requirements. Pricing is available on request.

Social Archiver

Social Archiver saves public posts, your own posts and other content you have permission to keep in a searchable archive. It offers web, mobile, Chrome extension and Obsidian clients, including standalone iOS and Android apps. Archives can include rich metadata, images or videos where supported, and Markdown output in Obsidian. Organization tools include profile crawling, scheduled subscriptions, a searchable timeline, tags, places and collections. Its guide covers 21 platforms and sources, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Threads, podcasts, Substack and RSS blogs; available functions differ by source. Saved posts, notes and media are primarily stored on-device. Enabling sync or web sharing can send related content and metadata to Social Archiver's servers. AI comments can use desktop CLI tools, Apple's on-device model or Cloud AI. Cloud AI can summarize, translate, create glossaries and suggest tags, but long archives may exceed its length limit. The free plan allows ten successful archives per month; Premium Monthly costs $3.99 a month, while Premium Annual costs $39.99 a year.
