In their own words
Timeero
Timeero is a workforce time and activity platform for mobile teams. It records employee hours, breaks, overtime, GPS locations, mileage, schedules, and job activity, then organizes time into payroll-ready timesheets. Mileage records routes and stop timestamps while employees are on the clock and includes IRS rate calculations. Automatic clock-in and out can begin or end tracking when workers reach or leave a job site. Teams can share schedules, send shift reminders, and manage time off. Mobile apps for Android and iOS work offline, while clock-ins can also use a web portal, iPad kiosk, or geofence. Integrations include QuickBooks, Gusto, ADP, Paycor, Paychex, Paylocity, BambooHR, Rippling, Viventium, Xero, Sage Intacct, PIMSY, and Zapier. Timeero states SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance. Basic is $5 a month when billed annually, with a 14-day trial.
VeriClock
VeriClock handles employee timekeeping, scheduling, and workforce management for independent contractors, hourly workers, and businesses with staff at job sites. Employees can clock in by web, mobile app, tablet, SMS, or telephone IVR. GPS tracking and configurable geofences can restrict clock-in and clock-out to designated locations. Scheduling includes recurring shifts, alerts for schedules and no-shows, and warnings about shift conflicts. PTO tools cover requests, configurable accrual, approvals, balance tracking, and schedule integration; the service also supports timesheet approvals, break tracking, and attendance reports. The Standard plan is $6.50 per user per month, with a $19/month account fee. IVR users cost $4.00 per user per month, phone lines $10 per line per month, and toll-free calls $0.07 per call. A 30-day trial does not require a credit card, though a card is needed to continue account access afterward. VeriClock integrates with Sage 50 or QuickBooks and documents a REST API governed by the requesting user's permissions. It says it does not process payroll itself.
