Tumblr vs Writizzy

Tumblr is a blogging and community service for publishing original posts, sharing interests, and connecting through reblogging. Posts can use tags and content labels; reblogs place a post on another blog while retaining attribution to the original poster and earlier contributors. Members can post directly to communities, and blogs can enable one-off questions with anonymous asks as an option. Blog tools include custom domains, custom-code theme customization, scheduling, and analytics. Audio posts can search or embed music from Spotify, SoundCloud, and Bandcamp, as well as podcast episodes from Pocket Casts. Tumblr runs on the web, iOS, and Android. It offers authenticator-app two-factor authentication with backup codes, plus controls to exclude a blog from Tumblr search and recommendations and discourage external search indexing. The free plan provides basic access. Tumblr Premium costs $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year and adds ad-free browsing, monthly Blaze and TumblrMart perks, and higher posting, liking, upload, and queue limits. Blog exports are ZIP files, limited to four per blog each month and retained for three days; importing content from other platforms or Tumblr blogs is not supported.

Writizzy is a web-based blogging platform for publishing articles and newsletters, with memberships, scheduled posts, and blog analytics. Its editor includes an outline, comments, cover images, and one-click publishing. Posts can go to a subscriber list, with subscriber management, double opt-in, and delivery tracking. Paid subscriptions run through Stripe, and Writizzy says it charges no platform commission. Writers can customize handcrafted themes with dark mode, colors, and typography controls. The platform can import posts, drafts, tags, and subscribers from Substack, WordPress, Ghost, Medium, or Beehiiv. Built-in analytics are described as privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant, and cookie-free. Plans range from Free to Teams: Free includes one blog, 100MB media storage, 10,000 analytics events monthly, 100 subscribers, and 400 monthly email sends. Starter is €9.00 per month; Premium is €20.00 per month; Teams is €50.00 per month. Higher plans list additional blog, storage, analytics, subscriber, and collaboration capacity. Writizzy also lists integrations including Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Discord, Zapier, Make, webhooks, GitHub, and media embeds.
