In their own words
XMReality Remote Guidance
XMReality Remote Guidance connects on-site workers and remote experts through video and augmented reality for visual guidance. With Hands Overlay, an expert can demonstrate instructions using their hands in real time. People receiving help can join through a link in a mobile browser without an account or software download. Calls support up to 20 participants depending on plan. Users can capture snapshots, video, notes and step-by-step instructions, then generate PDF reports. When bandwidth falls, the software adjusts video quality and can display a high-quality pause image to keep guidance visible. Integrations include Salesforce Service Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Outlook, OneDrive and Teams; Professional and Enterprise plans also support Zapier. Custom integration options include REST APIs, webhooks and embeddable UI components, with APIs available to Enterprise customers. The service supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows. Basic costs $35 a month per user with annual billing, or 42 USD with monthly billing, and includes up to five users. A 14-day trial is listed; there is no free plan.
Zapworks Studio
Zapworks Studio lets designers and developers create customizable augmented, virtual and mixed reality experiences for print, products, packaging, retail and events. It supports image, face and world tracking, along with static and animated 3D models in GLTF/GLB, FBX, OBJ and POD formats. Animation tools support expressive movement, and dynamic lighting works with a range of light sources and materials. Studio Actions let non-developers trigger functions in response to events without writing code; JavaScript scripting supports more complex projects. The product page describes FBX, OBJ and POD support as a way to fit existing workflows. Every plan includes unlimited projects, although project size, views, target images and permitted use differ by plan. Developer is for non-commercial use; Pro starts at $315 a month for commercial use. Zapworks offers a 14-day trial and describes Mattercraft as Studio’s successor, recommending it to newcomers to the tool suite. Studio runs on Windows 7 or later and macOS Yosemite or later. Zapworks says uploaded content is stored on AWS servers in Ireland and encrypted in transit and at rest.
