In their own words
AidOrbit
AidOrbit is a web platform for volunteer organizations to coordinate Missions, signups, communications, hours, and impact reporting. Teams can schedule one-time or recurring Missions with roles, shifts, capacity and eligibility rules, reminders, and waitlists. Check-in can use QR codes, kiosks, mobile flows, or staff assistance, with attendance attached to the Mission record. The platform connects attendance to volunteer-hour tracking, approval workflows, proof of service, exports, and impact reporting. Teams can send confirmations, updates, cancellations, reminders, follow-ups, and thank-you messages. Volunteers and staff can use mobile-friendly portals for registration, check-in and check-out, profiles, and hours workflows. AidOrbit lists role-based access controls, program-scoped permissions, audit trails, and secure portals. Its free Countdown plan costs nothing, billed annually, and is limited to 50 Active Volunteers per year, one program, one staff user, and 10 Mission listings. Paid plans are billed annually, starting with Pre-flight at $228 a year. Galaxy Enterprise adds SSO/SAML, API access, custom reporting, onboarding, procurement support, and SLA options.
SimpleServ
SimpleServ is web-based volunteer scheduling software for small churches. Coordinators can email service requests and see confirmations on a dashboard; volunteers accept or decline using email buttons, without an account or app download. Churches can save weekly services as templates and add the next unscheduled week with one tap. For open roles, the fill feature proposes volunteers asked least recently, while skipping people marked away or already serving. Starter and Pro include reminders after 48 hours without a response and the day before a service. Volunteers can add accepted assignments to iPhone, Google or Outlook calendars, and churches can import volunteer names, contact details and teams from CSV. The free plan is $0 forever and supports up to 5 volunteers and 1 admin account. Starter costs $15 per month and supports up to 50 volunteers; Pro costs $35 per month and supports up to 200. A 14-day trial is listed. Two-way text messaging and Pro reporting are listed as coming soon.
