Overview

AlertOps covers the incident lifecycle from detection to resolution, combining multi-channel alerting, on-call scheduling, escalations, and stakeholder communication. Its 150+ pre-built connectors span tools including ServiceNow, ConnectWise, Datadog, AWS, and Azure; email, a REST API, and webhooks provide additional ways to connect systems. That breadth suits multi-tool and global operations, though the right plan depends on whether a team needs only scheduling and notifications or also call routing and automation.

It fits the Alert Management Software, Incident Management Software, IT Incident Management Software, and On-Call Management Software categories.

Key features

Alert routing and on-call response

Multi-channel alerts, schedules, live call routing, and automated escalations support the handoff from detection through resolution. Standard includes notifications and scheduling, but call routing starts at Premium. Teams that rely on calls during escalation should factor in that tier jump rather than treating it as a basic capability.

Automation and OpsIQ

Workflow Automation can automate remediation, escalation, and communication end to end, making Premium more relevant to teams seeking to reduce manual incident coordination. OpsIQ correlates signals, automates triage, generates post-mortems, and recommends resolution actions. AlertOps says OpsIQ can reduce noise by up to 68%; it is an add-on on Premium and included in Enterprise, so the AI capability is not equivalent across those plans.

Mobile, integrations, and controls

AlertOps says its iOS and Android apps provide full incident management capabilities, useful for responders away from a desk. Security controls include SSO via SAML, OIDC, or Active Directory, enforced MFA, and role-based access control. AlertOps states that it is SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, runs on Microsoft Azure—which it says is FedRAMP Authorized—and encrypts customer data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with HTTPS/TLS.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per month and is capped at five users. It includes basic alert routing, three escalation policies, and 200+ integrations. That is a credible starting point for a small team, but the seat cap and basic routing make it a limited long-term fit as response needs grow.

Standard costs 8.00 USD per month, billed at $8 per user / month with yearly billing. It supports up to 10 users and adds multi-channel notifications and on-call scheduling, while retaining three escalation policies. It suits small teams that need scheduled response but can do without live call routing and workflow automation. The pricing note says paid plans start at $10/user/mo, so readers should distinguish that headline from the listed Standard rate and its yearly-billing term.

Premium costs 18.00 USD per month, billed at $18 per user / month with yearly billing. It includes everything in Standard plus live call routing, Workflow Automation, SSO / SAML, and OpsIQ AI Suite as an add-on. It is the relevant step up for teams that need call-based response or automation, but OpsIQ adds cost beyond the stated plan price.

Enterprise costs 28.00 USD per month, billed at $28 per user / month with yearly billing. It adds custom integrations, a dedicated account manager, a 99.9% SLA guarantee, and OpsIQ AI Suite included. This is aimed at teams that need those enterprise provisions rather than simply more of the Standard feature set.

All paid plans offer a 14-day trial without a credit card. Data retention rises from three months on Free to six months on Standard and 12 months on Premium; Enterprise retention is custom. Help center, email, and chat support are included in the pricing comparison, though retention differs materially by tier.

Platforms

AlertOps supports Android, iOS, web, and API access. The mobile apps are positioned for full incident management, while the web and API options suit teams coordinating response from operational tools and connected systems.

Who it's for

AlertOps is a strong fit for multi-tool operations teams that need alert routing, on-call coordination, and communication in one incident workflow. Teams with up to five users can start on Free; those needing schedules and multi-channel notifications can consider Standard, while call routing and automation point to Premium. It is less compelling for a growing team that needs more than five users without moving to paid billing, or for a buyer who wants live call routing in the entry paid tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: 150+ connectors plus email, REST API, and webhooks help connect a varied operational stack.
Pros: The response path spans scheduling, escalations, stakeholder updates, and ChatOps incident actions.
Pros: Mobile incident management is available on both iOS and Android.
Cons: Free stops at five users, limiting its usefulness once a team expands.
Cons: Standard is capped at 10 users and omits live call routing and workflow automation.
Cons: Paid plans are billed yearly, and OpsIQ is an add-on on Premium rather than included.

Alternatives

Consider KIX if you want a freemium option with self-hosted and Linux platforms; its free KIX Start plan has limited functionality and no support or maintenance. PagerDuty is another freemium alternative, with a free plan for five users, one on-call schedule, and one escalation policy. GLPI may suit teams looking for a broader platform with Linux, macOS, Windows, and self-hosted options; its Public Cloud plan is 19.00 EUR per month per billed IT agent.

ilert offers a free plan for up to five users, including one status page and 100 SMS/voice notifications, which may suit a small team prioritizing those allowances. OneUptime is worth considering if open-source software and self-hosting matter: its core platform is Apache 2.0 licensed and can be inspected, modified, and self-hosted. SIGNL4 has a free Starter plan for up to five users with push alerts, a native mobile app, ad-hoc duty management, and email, webhook, and REST API options.

xMatters offers a free plan for up to five users and a Starter plan for up to 25 users at 15.00 USD per month per user. Grafana Cloud Application Observability is another freemium option, with Linux, macOS, web, and Windows platforms.

Verdict

Choose AlertOps if your operations team needs alert routing, scheduled on-call response, and incident coordination across a varied tool stack, with a path to automation and live call routing. Its chief advantage is that breadth in one incident workflow; its main trade-offs are the five-user Free ceiling, yearly billing on paid tiers, and the fact that key capabilities begin above Standard. Teams that can work within those limits have a clear progression from free routing to enterprise response features.
