BS&A General Ledger

BS&A General Ledger is the central ledger in BS&A’s cloud-based Financial Management Suite, storing financial entries from other suite modules. Designed exclusively for local government, it supports GAAP fund accounting and governmental GASB reporting. Built-in GASB 34 reports allow adjustment entries in a separate Adjustments fund or a GASB 34 Adjustments area. Statistical reports calculate major and minor funds in summary or detailed formats and let users drill down to account balances. Budgeting includes spreadsheet imports, user-defined levels, projections, proposed reports, and what-if scenarios; it can draw employee longevity, grade, raise, and benefit projections from BS&A’s Human Resources module. Bank Reconciliation supports imported transactions, multiple accounts, pooled cash, and grouping by deposit. Listed capabilities also include restricted fund tracking, grant management, budget-versus-actuals, and program tracking. It runs on the web with cloud deployment, and BS&A says suite data is shared for real-time updates and to avoid duplicate entry. Pricing is on request.

Enhanced Fund Accounting

Enhanced Fund Accounting is Windows accounting and financial-management software for municipalities and nonprofit organizations. Its modules cover accounts payable and receivable, budget preparation, disbursements and receipts, fixed assets, general ledger, payroll, and purchase orders. The program runs on Windows 10/11 with recent Microsoft Office and Access versions, follows the accounting principles prescribed by the Office of the State Comptroller, and is compatible with the Uniform System of Accounts. Accounts payable handles multiple cash and checking accounts, recurring payables, invoice selection, and void audit trails. Accounts receivable tracks customers and payment history, applies payments to invoices, and creates related journal entries. Optional water and sewer billing connects to the general ledger. Budgeting integrates with the ledger and exports municipal numbers to a prepared Excel spreadsheet. Payroll includes direct deposit and New York State reporting. Purchasing covers ordering through invoicing, while fixed assets calculate straight-line depreciation. Pricing is quoted for the full suite or individual modules.
