In their own words
Caiter
Caiter is catering software for preparing proposals and coordinating event orders, purchasing, kitchen production, clients, and menus. Its proposal builder can include dish photos, descriptions, and prices; clients can download quotes as Excel files and confirm orders through the proposal. The quote editor draws menu items from a catalog or previous events and calculates totals automatically. A built-in CRM tracks order status, client history, and menus, while the calendar displays events by date. Caiter combines purchasing needs across events and updates lists when orders or menu items change; lists can be exported to Excel. Kitchen lists show event details, group dishes by prep station, reflect order updates, and can be printed. Finance features calculate event profitability, track deposits and balances, and analyze products and services by revenue and profit. Caiter runs on Android, iOS, and the web. The Start plan costs $79 a month, billed monthly, and includes up to 50 proposals and three users. A 14-day trial offers full access for up to 10 proposals for real clients and requires no credit card. Caiter also says it imports a menu within one business day and provides email support, with priority support on Business.
Savrsoft
Savrsoft is catering software for managing the work around events, from recipes and menus through payments and accounting. It covers recipe costing, per-event profit and loss, menu profitability, yield and portion scaling, ingredient price updates, inventory, purchasing, guest RSVPs, proposals, invoicing, and accounting sync. Its AI copilot can generate menus, read printed recipes from photos, identify FDA Big-9 allergens, write menu cards in more than 45 languages, and create mise-en-place prep sheets. Stripe or Square connections let clients pay deposits directly into the caterer’s account; Savrsoft says it never holds those funds. The installable Progressive Web App runs on iOS and Android, works offline at event venues, and needs no app-store download. Live integrations include QuickBooks Online, Google Calendar, Eventbrite, SendGrid, social platforms, Claude, Open Food Facts, a REST API, and webhooks. Xero and Microsoft Outlook are listed on the roadmap. Plans start at $49 a month for registered non-profits; Standard costs $59 a month. A 14-day trial is available.
