Overview

Cargo treats go-to-market processes as repository-managed workflows rather than isolated routing settings. That suits technical teams seeking to build and maintain repeatable lead operations alongside their development work. Teams looking for a basic routing tool with a simple fixed usage model may find its workflow approach and credit accounting more than they need.

Key features

The system’s building blocks include agents, context, tools, data models, plays, territories, and apps. Cargo also supports lead qualification, territory routing, round-robin assignment, workflow automation, and webhooks, giving teams scope to coordinate lead intake and follow-through within the same system.

Workflows can run on triggers or schedules, retry failed steps, and provide a trace of each run. Retries and traces help teams manage recurring processes when steps fail, while scheduled and event-driven starts support different operating patterns. The Cargo CDK uses TypeScript definitions to preview changes, deploy declaratively, and roll back workspace resources, a meaningful advantage for teams that want changes managed through a developer workflow.

Cargo lists compatibility with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Devin, and Replicas. It also lists more than 100 integrations, including HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Apollo.io, OpenAI, and Anthropic. That breadth is useful for teams connecting sales workflows to existing tools, though the value depends on whether those workflows justify a programmable platform.

Pricing

Cargo has a free tier and paid plans starting at $165/mo. The 100 credits plan costs 0.00 USD per month and includes up to 100 enrichment credits, 10K orchestration steps, 100K storage inserts, and community support. It is a reasonable way to begin, but teams should watch consumption: 100 orchestration steps or 1,000 storage inserts use one credit.

The 1.5K credits plan is 165.00 USD per month and the 2.5K credits plan is 250.00 USD per month; both include all 100+ integrations and email support. The 17K credits plan costs 1190.00 USD per month and adds priority support. At 3000.00 USD per month, the 50K+ credits plan includes dedicated support. These tiers make higher usage and support levels the main reasons to spend more; choose a tier against expected workload rather than assuming credits cover one uniform type of activity.

When credits run out, existing workflows pause until credits are added, although Cargo says no data is lost. That interruption is a material operational constraint for teams relying on continuous automation. Cargo offers a free trial and says customers unhappy within the first 14 days can contact the company for a full refund.

Cargo says it maintains a SOC 2 Type II report and uses encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, backups, monitoring, and vulnerability management. It also says Slack data and Customer Content are not used to train foundation models.

Platforms

Cargo runs on the web and is available as an API. Those options fit teams integrating it into developer-led workflows, rather than buyers who need a stated native mobile app.

Who it's for

Cargo is best suited to technically capable go-to-market teams that want repository-defined workflows, coding-agent compatibility, and integration with a broad sales and productivity stack. Its routing, qualification, and automation capabilities make it relevant to lead operations, but a team that needs only straightforward lead distribution may be better served by a narrower tool. Credit exhaustion also makes usage forecasting important for any team putting essential workflows on the platform.

Pros and cons

Pros: Repository-defined workflows and a TypeScript CDK give developer-led teams control over previewing, deployment, and rollback.
Pros: More than 100 integrations and compatibility with several coding agents give teams flexibility to connect tools and agent workflows.
Pros: Run traces, retries, and trigger- or schedule-based execution support recurring workflows that need visibility and recovery.
Cons: Workflows pause when credits are exhausted, so teams must account for usage to avoid interruption.
Cons: The 100-credit tier has community support, while email, priority, and dedicated support require higher tiers.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of lead-routing products, see Lead Routing Software. 91Leads CRM is an alternative with a free trial, Android, iOS, API, and web platforms, and a video-call plan with 1,000 free minutes per calendar month before per-minute charges. Mixdesk is worth considering for teams seeking a freemium, multi-channel product: its free plan covers 10 conversations and 10 connected channel accounts, but includes no AI messages.

Kriatix Lead Qualification Chatbot is another paid alternative with a free trial and Android, iOS, self-hosted, and web platforms. Badger Lead Routing has a free trial and a $16.00 USD per month plan billed annually with a five-license minimum, which may suit buyers evaluating a seat-based routing option. Follow Up Boss is a paid web product with a $69.00 USD per month Grow plan that includes lead distribution, Smart Lists, and Action Plans.

Lead Dispatcher offers a free Starter plan for up to five reps, with smart routing rules, Slack dispatch, HubSpot integration, and basic analytics; it is a clearer fit for teams seeking a capped, rep-based entry tier. Gradient Works has a free plan with 1,000 credits, five rep users, one Carve scenario, Market Map, basic Bookbuilder, and analytics, which may appeal to teams focused on territory planning. InstaChime has a free web plan for one workspace, two users, and 50 leads per month with basic routing and email alerts, a more limited starting point for small teams.

Verdict

Choose Cargo if your go-to-market team wants to manage sophisticated workflows as code, use coding agents, and connect a wide range of tools. Its developer controls and execution features are compelling for that audience. Look elsewhere if you need simple lead routing, predictable usage without credit monitoring, or assurance that workflows will continue after the balance is depleted.
