In their own words
Cicini
Cicini is a web-based booking and scheduling platform for service businesses, combining appointments, staff calendars, payments, reminders and client management. Clients can book around the clock through a custom booking page and public link, while teams coordinate availability and shifts across multi-staff calendars. Google Calendar sync is in beta: new appointments can push to Google, and two-way busy-time blocking can hide unavailable slots. Email reminders are included on all plans; paid plans add plan-limited SMS reminders and Stripe checkout for full payments or service deposits. Card information remains with Stripe rather than Cicini’s servers. Client tools include typed-question intake forms and public e-sign links for legal documents and policies. Professional and Enterprise plans include API keys and outbound webhooks, though Professional quotas are limited and the public REST surface is still developing. Cicini says it encrypts data in transit and at rest and uses role-based access controls, but does not claim HIPAA, PHIPA or SOC 2 compliance. A free plan is available; paid plans start at $15/mo (annual), and a 30-day trial is offered.
Rosie
Rosie is staff scheduling and rostering software for hospitality, retail, healthcare, and services businesses, available on Android, iOS, and web. Its constraint solver considers availability, contracted hours, qualifications, rest periods, and fairness when generating rosters. Managers can adjust shifts in a drag-and-drop weekly grid and publish schedules to staff. Employees can clock in or out on a phone with GPS verification or at a shared tablet kiosk. Rosie says it enforces 22 scheduling rules and supports break, rest, young-worker, and leave requirements across six jurisdictions. The scheduler uses Google OR-Tools CP-SAT version 9.8.3296 rather than a language model. The free plan covers up to 15 people at one site. Pro costs $3.50 per month and covers up to 75 people at five sites; Business costs $5 per month and covers up to 150 people with unlimited sites. Business plans can send approved hours to Xero, while timesheets and reports can be exported as CSV. Rosie passes hours and rates to payroll but does not calculate tax or pay employees.
