ClearScore Protect Plus is an identity protection service for Android, iOS, and web. It monitors credit reports and scans the dark web daily for exposed personal information linked to identity theft and fraud. Credit report updates can cover score changes, balances, and other fraud-relevant information. Subscribers can contact a fraud helpline at any time for suspicious messages, identity theft, and fraud. Protect Plus advertises up to $1 million USD in identity-theft insurance for costs such as legal fees and lost wages, plus up to $25,000 USD of ransomware cover. The monthly plan costs A$14.99 a month; the annual plan costs A$119.99 a year. ClearScore also offers a free credit score and report, and its free Protect service includes identity monitoring and dark-web checks. A ClearScore account is required. Insurance eligibility requires subscribers to be at least 18 and permanent Australian residents. ClearScore is headquartered in Sydney and was founded in 2015.
Norton Identity Advisor Plus
Norton Identity Advisor Plus is a paid service for identity theft monitoring, alerts, restoration help, and insurance for covered losses and expenses. Dark Web Monitoring searches dark web locations and private forums for personal information and sends a notification if it appears. Monitoring starts with the subscriber’s email address; more information can be added after signing in. Financial Monitoring provides an overview and alerts users to suspicious bank account or credit card transactions. Social media monitoring checks popular sites for suspicious activity, but availability varies and chats and direct messages are not monitored. An Identity Restoration Specialist guides subscribers through restoration and can help with disputes until a case closes. Stolen wallet assistance provides guidance on cancelling or replacing cards and identification documents. Listed insurance coverage totals up to A$58,000, subject to terms and exclusions. The plan is A$99.99 a year for the first year, then automatically renews annually at A$119.99 unless cancelled. It covers one account with app and website access on unlimited devices.
