In their own words
Document Parser
Document Parser extracts structured information from emails, attachments, and uploaded files, then makes it available as spreadsheet data. Users can upload PDFs, Word files, and other formats, or forward messages to a unique cloudHQ-issued address for automatic parsing. Attachments in forwarded emails can be processed too. Extracted fields include contacts, invoice dates, amounts, due dates, vendors, names, email addresses, and phone numbers. Users can define processing rules for emails and documents. Parsed information can be downloaded as spreadsheet data; the product overview also lists Excel and JSON exports. It accepts forwarded mail from any email provider and can send extracted data into a workflow. The maker describes uses including invoice processing, accounting records, customer data extraction, legal documents, medical forms, and education records. Document Parser is a web product presented by cloudHQ, which says it was founded in 2011. Its Free plan is for one user and limited to 20 documents. Premium costs $69.90 a month per user and includes email and phone support. The product page says emails and documents are not stored on its servers and cloud communications use SSL encryption; it also says passwords are not stored and authentication uses OAuth and OpenID.
MailParse
MailParse parses email files, raw email text, and connected mailboxes into structured Excel, CSV, or JSON data. It extracts sender and recipient details, dates, subjects, message bodies in plain text and HTML, attachment metadata, and custom fields. Starter and higher plans support custom fields through label matching or regular expressions, as well as Gmail or IMAP mailbox connections that check for new messages every 15 minutes. The listed integrations include Excel, Outlook, Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, and JSON/API. API output is structured JSON for uses such as database imports and application pipelines. MailParse runs in a browser on Mac, Windows, or Linux; listed platforms also include API and self-hosted. It records attachment names, types, and sizes but does not extract content from PDF or spreadsheet attachments. Three parses are available without an account, and a free account gets a one-time pool of 30. Starter costs $24 a month, billed $288 yearly, for 100 emails per month. The privacy policy states that data in transit uses TLS 1.3 and stored files and records use AES-256 encryption.
