Overview

TutorHive handles the administration around teaching rather than helping users find tutors or students. Its scope is broad for a solo practice: lessons, student records, homework and invoicing sit alongside parent access. The trade-off is that the most useful room to grow costs 14.00 USD per month billed monthly.

Key features

The calendar supports recurring sessions and is designed to prevent double-booking, which suits tutors with regular weekly schedules. Profiles can keep goals, progress notes, attendance and session history together, making it easier to follow a learner’s work over time. Homework tracking rounds out the core teaching record.

TutorHive advertises Stripe and PayPal integrations and says payments go directly to tutors with zero commission. Video calls run through the tutor’s own Zoom, Voov Meeting or ClassIn account; TutorHive says it stores only the meeting link and does not access or record sessions. That arrangement avoids moving calls into a separate TutorHive video service, but requires tutors to maintain their own meeting accounts.

The parent portal exposes attendance, notes, homework and certificates in 10 languages, a useful way to let families follow progress without relying on manual updates. It is not included in Free. The service also advertises human email support with a response within 24 hours and support in 10 languages.

TutorHive describes a mobile PWA and gives instructions for adding it to the home screen through Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android. Its privacy policy says it does not sell personal information, names Stripe, Supabase, Google Analytics, Netlify and Railway as service providers, and addresses GDPR for EU/UK users and CCPA for California residents.

Pricing

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free Forever	Free	Up to 2 students, basic calendar, homework tracker, global holidays and 1 invoice per month
Pro	14.00 USD per month, billed monthly	Unlimited students, 1 tutor, full scheduling, invoicing and payments, parent portal, booking website, and Zoom, Voov and ClassIn integration
Agency	29.00 USD per month, billed monthly	Up to 25 tutors, everything in Pro, tutor and staff management, payroll tracking, admin dashboard, priority support and custom domain

Free is a constrained way to try the workflow: two students and one monthly invoice can suit a very small operation, but session packages, parent portal, whiteboard, certificates, and goal or mood tracking are excluded. Pro is the sensible step for a solo tutor who needs an unlimited student roster or parent access; it remains limited to one tutor. Agency starts at 29.00 USD per month for up to 25 tutors; 26–50 tutors costs $49/mo, and teams above 50 need to contact TutorHive. Agency pricing carries a 12-month price lock, with annual increases capped at 10% and 60 days’ notice. A 7-day trial is offered.

Platforms

TutorHive supports Android, iOS and web. Its mobile PWA can be added to an iPhone or Android home screen, providing a mobile-access option without a separately stated native-app distinction.

Who it's for

Choose TutorHive if you are a professional tutor or education organization that already has students and wants administration, learning records and parent access in one service. It is less suited to anyone seeking a marketplace, or to a solo tutor who needs more than two learners but is not ready to pay for Pro.

Pros and cons

Pros: recurring-session scheduling and student histories bring routine lesson administration into one workflow.
Pros: Stripe and PayPal support direct payments with zero commission, according to TutorHive.
Pros: the parent portal covers attendance, notes, homework and certificates in 10 languages.
Cons: Free stops at two students and one invoice per month, and omits several features including the parent portal.
Cons: Pro covers only one tutor, so a multi-tutor organization needs Agency.
Cons: tutors must use their own accounts for Zoom, Voov Meeting or ClassIn.

Alternatives

If a larger free student allowance matters more than TutorHive’s parent portal and integrated workflow, consider TuitionDesk, whose free plan supports up to 10 students and unlimited batches. For an iOS-only option with unlimited students on its free plan, Trakist may fit better; its free tier is limited to two classes. Tutitor is another free option, with unlimited students, lessons and invoices and a 15 GB library across Android, iOS and web.

Other alternatives include TutorOne, OneBookPlus, Spoteca, Tutr Desk and Tutorbase. Browse the Tutoring Center Software category for more options.

Verdict

TutorHive is a good fit for solo tutors who want scheduling, learner records, invoicing and parent communication in one place, with a clear path to agency tools as their team grows. The principal reason to look elsewhere is cost at scale—or the restrictive two-student Free ceiling if you need a useful long-term free plan.
