In their own words
SubDoc
SubDoc is a web portal for tracking contractor certificates of insurance and business licenses in vendor compliance workflows. Its AI reads uploaded certificates to extract policy numbers, carriers, dates, and coverage limits, then fills review fields. Vendors and brokers can submit documents through secure links without accounts or vendor fees. Teams can preview PDFs, compare uploaded limits with requirements, and approve, reject, or issue reasoned waivers. SubDoc tracks document expirations and sends renewal reminders; policy dates can also sync to Google Calendar across workspaces. Pro and Advanced include QuickBooks and Sage accounting exports, webhooks, and Zapier integration. Those plans can also flag invoices for payment holds when a policy has expired or an endorsement is missing. The free Starter plan is free and allows three tracked vendors, one workspace, one team seat, one project, five invoices per month, and 100 MB of storage. Pro is listed at $14 a month for the first three months, then $20 a month. SubDoc says documents are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and data in transit uses TLS 1.3.
TrustLayer
TrustLayer is a web and API platform for automating vendor compliance documents and insurance verification. It requests, collects and follows up on certificates of insurance, W9s, licenses, driver licenses, contracts and custom documents, while sending reminders about expirations. Compliance Assistant and Compliance Analytics provide visibility into risk. Pulse supplies policy-level proof of insurance, and TrustLayer Plus offers outsourced risk management. Vendors can work without signing in; brokers and project managers receive dedicated access paths. Procore and QuickBooks integrations synchronize compliance information for construction and accounting workflows. The Platform API connects applications to compliance profiles, parties, projects and documents through JSON. API v2 is recommended, while v1 is deprecated and scheduled for sunset on March 31, 2027. The free Starter plan covers up to 50 vendors; additional vendors cost $10 per vendor per month. TrustLayer states it completed a SOC 2 Type II audit.
