What it is
Equifax CreditWatch combines credit-report monitoring with tools intended to help members spot identity risks. Daily Credit Alerts flag significant changes to a credit report, while the Equifax Credit Score is updated monthly; Equifax says checking it will not affect the score. WebDetect watches suspected fraud websites on the dark web and can alert members if personal or financial information appears. Monitoring can cover up to six email addresses, six telephone numbers, six bank accounts and 12 credit or debit cards, plus a driver’s licence and national insurance number. SocialScan searches social media for publicly available personal information that could put identity at risk. After signup and identity verification, members can access a full online Equifax Credit Report and view, download or print earlier reports as PDFs. The plan also lists an Open Banking Finance Monitor and customer-care support. CreditWatch runs on Android, iOS and the web. It costs £7.95 per month after the first 30 days free, with cancellation at any time; there is no free plan. Customer care is available weekdays from 8am to 6pm, excluding 25 and 26 December.
