What it is
Doska is a local-first Kanban board that stores cards as Markdown files. Boards remain on the device and work offline, with synchronization available when configured. Card content supports GitHub-flavored Markdown, task lists, links between cards, deadlines and priorities. Board tools include a row view, sortable deadlines and priorities, search, sidebar folders and undo for deleted cards. The desktop app can sync boards both ways with a local folder, representing columns as folders and cards as Markdown files. Cross-device sync and shared boards require a self-hosted server running with Docker and Docker Compose. On that server, admins create accounts, while board owners can share boards or publish read-only links. Doska is free, MIT licensed and has no features behind a paywall. It supports Android, API, iOS, Linux, macOS, self-hosted, web and Windows. The project is in active development; its maker directs users to GitHub for bug reports and feature requests.
